Hi Everyone, :wave2:
Need some advice. We are "planning" (saving $$$$) to try to go Disneyland during the Christmas Season. The view is everything to us since DS loves to watch the fireworks inside the hotel room. Other than the Disneyland hotels, can you recommend a hotel that is tall enough that we can see the fireworks?
Thanks so much!!

Not fireworks, but World of Color from a theme park view room at Paradise Pier is AMAZING.

We are staying at the hojo next week. The room we booked is supposed to have a balcony view of the fireworks. I can let you know when we get back :)

Hilton Anaheim. Gorgeous view of the fireworks. (Need a Disney View room though.)

I want to second the park view from paradise pier! Our favorite room by far! And if you cut thru the GCH to the parks not a bad walk at all.

We had a park view room at HoJo a couple of years ago. I requested a room on the top floor and we had a perfect view of the fireworks from our balcony :goodvibes

Agree with the above poster about the Hilton Anaheim. Park view rooms on higher floors on the western end have views of fireworks and WOC (make sure to specify that you want this view when making your reservation). Also, park view rooms at the Sheraton Park have a nice view of fireworks and a side view of WOC -- so fun to watch from the balcony while eating dessert. Both hotels are easily walkable for those without health/mobility issues -- about 10 minutes or so straight north on Harbor to the parks.

I'll third the park view from PPH(Fantastic, in our opinion!), AND the walk through the GCH to bag check(less than 10 minutes for us!):thumbsup2

jonahsmommmy --

You did say "Other than the Disneyland hotels...", so does that mean that all 3 of the Disney hotels are ruled out (which would include the Paradise Pier Hotel)? Or did you just mean the Disneyland Hotel itself? I ask because if the Paradise Pier is on the table as an option, then by all means I will agree that the view is amazing (I guess I would be the "fourth" to give it a :thumbsup2 in this thread!).

These are links to PPH view photos from blackjackdelta, which he shared in the PPH thread -- Here and Here.

In that same PPH thread, I posted view photos from my room in December of last year, which was all the way at the end of the hallway on the 12th floor -- Here.

That was the best DCA view I have had so far, and I have had DCA view rooms for 4 Decembers in a row.

You also mentioned that your son wants to watch the fireworks in your original post. As krispin41 previously mentioned, you can't see fireworks from the PPH but you could get a nice semi-view of World of Color, while not getting an ideal view of the actual projections and effects on the water. You can also tune into a channel on the TV in the room and hear the WoC soundtrack as the show is happening, if I am not mistaken.

Right, in their original post, the OP is asking about a NON Disney Resort hotel and watching fireworks. So, my thinking is she has rules out PPH on both counts.

If the goal is to watch fireworks from the room, your best bets would be the Hilton Anaheim and the Sheraton Park.

If you want to watch World of Color from a Disney Resort hotel instead, the the PPH would be great.

I noticed that too, which is why I mentioned her original comment, "Other than the Disneyland hotels..." in my previous post.

I had a feeling that, at a quick glance, some folks may have thought that she meant "Other than the Disneyland Hotel," and that the "s" at the end of "hotel" was unintentional. That's why I wanted to clarify exactly what she meant, since I saw that the PPH was already being suggested and I didn't think that she wanted any hotel at the DLR. And certainly for fireworks, which her son wants to see, the PPH is useless!:rotfl2:

Oops…..So Sorry jonahsmommy!!!

I read through your post too quickly(didn't catch that you weren't interested in any of the Disney Hotels)!(Only mentioned it because of the lovely view of DCA.)

Please disregard the PPH---like Sherry says, it's view of the fireworks(from pool area) is not very good---in my opinion!:)

Thanks so much everyone for all your replies. :) I had originally thought that I couldn't afford PPH but after reading everyone's responses, I think I might give it a try. Showed DS the pictures of the view and he was very excited. :thumbsup2 Now I have to pick the dates when to go!!

We really enjoy the PPH---hope you will too!!!:thumbsup2

Those views are fantastic(the higher up, the better), and the on property perks are nice as well!

Make sure to read through the PPH thread for lots of info.!:)
