View from some of the BC villas

We drove by the new Beach Club villas last week while vacationing at the Boardwalk. I was very surprised at how close some "wings" of the complex came to the Epcot Center Drive. Some balconies were right up against the construction fence adjacent to the street. This is a fairly busy road with alot of bus traffic. I would think these villas would hear alot of road noise.

Maybe this thread has already been discussed but wondering if we will have a two tier point structure at the BC. Some of these villas have less than desirable views.

Some of the units at VWL have a less than desireable view as well, but there is only one (preferred) view category. They should probably have a standard view as well but don't. Who knows what they will do at the BCV.

We were in a VWL studio the week after Thanksgiving. 4th floor at the way end of the hall - the next to last room. We had a lovely view of the garbage dumpster and the road that leads to it. Using preferred view points for this - never again. Next time I will have them move us.

The views will be the road, check in area, parking lot or main BC complex or a combination if you get lucky. There appeared to be no good views that I could tell though one might be a view of the fireworks from certain units.

DisneyKidds, we also had what I would consider an undesirable view last week. Actually it was not the view, it was the extreme lack of privacy. Kind of sad to have to keep the curtains closed for a week. Anyway, I plan to call DVC and speak to Jackie about the fact that there should be 2 tiers at VWL. Not sure what good it will do, but like you, next time I will speak up.

Would this be a poor purchase? The location is good, however the views are lacking...I spoke with a CM from the BC and he says the pool will probably be closed for anyone not at the BC, YC or BCV because of it's limited capacity...would this property have the same trading power of say BWV if exchanged to go outside of Disney Property?

That was one thing I couldn't figure...what would be a good view? It looks like they might put in some kind of canal view...and I could believe Disney moving the road since Universal flooded their parking lots. But if they do that then what price BCV?

From a trading standpoint through II, all DVC members get the same trade power. It's a generic one based on the fact that all of the DVC properties are red year around except DVC HH for about 6 weeks of the year. DVC will give up the trade unit that meets the criteria and costs you the least amount of points regardless of your home resort. This is usually OKW for Dream Season or for Adventure Season at OKW or HH.

Now outside of II (direct exchanges or through independents), the story might be different though I doubt it would make much difference.

This has been my assumption all along, that SAB will not continue in the Pool Hopping once BCV opens.
