I never really posted my thoughts on how I felt after our trip to disneyland in November regarding being on my lonesome with my daughter aged 5.

I was reaaaallllyyyy worried about feeling left out of things, feeling uncomfortable when in restaurants but I needn't have done. we did cafe mickeys breakfast and there was a lady on her own with a little girl a bit older than mine and it went fine. The breakfasts in the hotel were fine too.

As for in the parks I put as good a fight up as anyone else making sure my daughter got her fair share of character meets.

I told the check in about my concerns about being placed in a room far away from everything and they put me in a room 2 doors up from the automatic doors near to where they do the character meets in sequoia lodge. It turned out to be very noisy but I did feel safer knowing we weren't far away should we need any help.

So big thumbs up to it being single parent friendly.

Absolutely - I always go with no other adults, and at least one child :goodvibes .

Thanks for that Tetley02. Im going with my parents and my dd this time but next time i go it will be just me and my 2 year old and im finding it a bit daunting but your post just put me at ease :) Thanks

Thanks for posting that, tetley02. :goodvibes

To be honest, I think Disney is one of the few places that I would feel comfortable about going on holiday to by myself.

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure this will put others minds at ease :goodvibes

Although I am not a single parent, I have only ever been to DLP with just my DD who is now 15, so technically I was a single parent while visiting. We've been 3 times now and I never felt out of place at all! I've also always felt very safe there, maybe it helped that she never objects to us holding hands, something you can easily get away with at the park/in France :thumbsup2

My trip 2 weeks ago was the first time I had been abroad without either my teacher, parent or husband. :scared: Add to that I was responsible for my daughter and I was feeling a little apprehensive. I need not have worried at all - Disney seems to be somewhere where a parent on their own with a child can relax completely. I think it helped that my daughter was old enough at 10 to go and bag a table while I queued at counter service restaurants or in the Redwood Bar. I may have found it more hectic if I was queuing for food with a toddler clutching my legs.
