Hi all!

I am curious who you all think is the best videographer or if you would just use Disney's video services. Also, is the video worth the extra cost, and how many hours of coverage are usually needed? I think the idea of being able to relive your wedding through a video is incredibly romantic.

Thank you in advance! :goodvibes

I am also interested in finding out if the added expense is worth it. Disney has a way of pricing everything so expensive and yet somehow us fanatic disney fans buy into it. Who really pays over $1,000.00 for dvd footage of a wedding? Oh wait.... thats right, I might be that one.

:bump:

would like to know if its worth it...

Well first of all...i think that if you can afford it the video footage is worth every penny. Pictures as great but watching the ebtire day unfold is priceless. That also depends on your wedding size. I had 8 hours of coverage and we lvoe our video. We even purchased our Disney raw video footage of the entire day and we watch that more than the edited one. We used Disney video because we had not known of the other options really and we just went with them for ease. They are pricey that much is true but I think we got an amazing coverage of our wedding day. I love our video.

However, there are other options that are cheaper and may be more your style. Other videographers have different style. We wanted simple.

Good Luck but i think getting some video even of your ceremony is worth it.

We are using kennedy Video and while she is priced in the same ballpark as Disney we loved her work. I also love that she and her husband are a team so at all times you have 2 cameras doing the vidoetaping...which means you will have getting ready footage of the both as you and a ton of raw footage. She also gives unlimited hours in her package. Her website is : www.kennedyvideoproductions.com you will notice in her gallery she has done many Disney weddings. Another great vendor is stvs and I love his work as well it was just that Kennedy was more our style. So that is what you should figure out (what style) you forsee for the outcome.

Just understand that Disney will charge you a fee somewhere in the range on $30/hr for outside video and photo! For us the sanity of knowing and being comfortable with our vendors was worth the few hundred $$$ but if you are on a tight budget it is something to consider.

I had Disney do my videography and I had the two best guys! They did a fantastic job at the ceremony!! The DVD is fantastic! I love the special Disney touches on the video and the outside of the DVD!! Love it!! It well worth the money and I wouldn't have had my wedding without it! :goodvibes

I'm also using Disney DVD. In the pavilion the cameras are a part of the set up so you don't have men carrying big cameras around during your ceremony. I'm doing the 6 hour coverage. If I have some extra cash (yeah right, who am i kidding) I'll bump it up.

Does anyone know if it's worth paying for the 2 vhs copies at $1320 and having them transferred to a dvd later, rather than paying $1600 for 1 dvd. Is the quality that much better?

Just FYI- those cameras in the pavillion are stationary and many people have had problems with the footage like no close up shots or shots of just the back of the two of you. So while it sounds optimal even if you choose Disney I would request a handheld camera be onsite because there is nothing like an actual person looking through the lens to ensure good footage...hope that helps someone and good luck in your choices!

Pixie08,

That's a really good point about the cameras. One of the things that makes footage so sentimental is close-ups at all the right times. It helps knowing that someone is with that camera ensuring the best possible footage. For the people who used outside vendors, how much was your package if you don't mind me asking?

I used STVS video and they were wonderful! We had a great time with Stan and Bonnie. The video is definately worth it. My grandmother is 87 years old and my husband's father is not doing well physically. It is going to be great to have a video of them ongoing. Also, it was great to have some of the best things captured that I never saw. My neice drinking lemonade, and having her hair brushed. Leif and I just relaxing. Pictures were wonderful, but they can only show so much. If you are worried about the cost, some of the different vendors offer raw footage only that you can edit yourself. Personally, I don't have time to edit anything! I really thought I would have everything done on my computer for our wedding pictures and I am not there yet!!!!

We used STVS and were absolutely thrilled with what a wonderful job Stan did! He is very professional, and we LOVE our video. I can't imagine not having it--I love re-living our wedding day and the video captures things that pictures just can't. I highly recommend STVS!

If you use an outside photographer/videographer are they allowed to come to the dessert party?? Or is that something only disney's services do?? I thought i read somewhere that they wont allow outside vendors in the theme parks? But maybe i dreamed it or something lol

Yeh i was wondering that to. Does anyone recommend any other non disney videographers?

there are a couple other outside videograohers..the girls above named a few

STVS and then Kennedy

Depending on the length of your event and if it is custom or intimate the video for 6 hours would cover the ceremony and reception.

We had 8 hours and it got the ceremony, reception and dessert party.

if you use an outside videographer they can capture the DP just you pay the fees that come along with it and have to get them proper clearance to go backstage at EPCOT.

Most of the outside videographers are cheaper than Disney for more coverage time so if you don't need it to meet your minimum you might want to consider looking around.

her package is actually listed on her website...she recently increased her price. We booked her as soon as we got the date so we recieved a much cheaper package...but remeber the package listed is for unlimited time and maybe she will work something out. As Jonette mentioned another vendor who is awesome at customizing packages is STVS and his work is awesome as well it was a tough choice I loved them both but my dh2b was just set on Kennedy and since he doesn't ask for much (he is very vocal on video and photo and really insisted on Randy Chapman and Kennedy) I went with it.

here is their site www.kennedyvideoproductions.com to see the price click on packages and I recommend looking at the gallery!

As someone who's been in the TV news business for 7 years, I can tell you the quality of Disney Videographers is outstanding. We had them for 6 or 8 hours at our wedding (wife would know). The two guys were courteous and professional and they captured some classic moments.

We were married at the Wedding Pavilion, so we used the 3 cams inside + we had a handheld roamer. The shots during the wedding were great...

The finished DVD was AMAZING. Get the DVD if you can. Yes, there's that much difference in quality. And get the raw footage if you can. New wife and I love watching the raw footage, because you'll hear and see things that didn't make it onto the finished DVD. Yes, the raw footage comes in dvd form.

I had high expectations of Disney Photography and Videography and they exceeded all of those. Amy was our Photographer. I wish I could remember the names of our videographers.

A+++ all the way.

We used Video Magic, a local Orlando videographer, who does fabulous work, IMHO. We were VERY happy with our video! :cloud9:

Here's a link to our video montage. It takes a few minutes to download.

Video Magic Montage

Sadly, I haven't seen a lot of talk about him on other boards, so I kind of think he's not doing so many Disney weddings anymore.

Kennedy Productions also does fabulous work. I love the emotional aspect of their videos.

I haven't seen but a handful of Disney Videography wedding videos, and none lately since they upped the minimums to get people to use them, but I have to say they just weren't that impressive to me. It all depends on your taste, though.

There are certianly a variety of styles in the videographers that are available.

I used disney, and when we first got our video, i have to say that I was disappointed. There were certain elements, like the garter toss, and one other thing, i can't rememeber that were left out. However, i contacted them, and they didn't know what happened, and they were more than happy to add that stuff in. At the same time I ordered the raw footage (my dad is a cameraman, so he was going to have his peeps edit the raw footage for me) but when i got the new video, not only did they add the parts I wanted in, but they totally re-edited the whole thing, i couldn't be happier with it now.

One thing I have to say though, is i'm not happy with the raw footage, we had 6 hours of coverage, but I really feel like with the raw footage, there is only about 3 hours of coverage (including the ceremony) so i'm wondering where the 6 hours I paid for is... i haven't had an opportunity to contact them on that...
