Hello all the guitar players here! Anyone around?
My wife bought me a guitar 5 years ago (acoustic) and I played around for a bit then put it in the corner for years. I was messing around on youtube when I found a guy doing video lessons that just made something click for me. His videos made me pick the guitar back up after years, made me get an electric which is what I always wanted anyways, and got me back into the swing.
His name was Marty Schwartz, and I'm sure you've heard about him if you play guitar and ever get on youtube. Well, I signed up for an email newsletter from him with some lessons sent every now and then. Recently in one of his newsletters, he said he was opening up a 3 day subscription to his video site.
The site is GuitarJamz.com and you can see the link for the free 3 day sign up. I knew I really liked the way he taught in his youtube videos and I'm now looking through his site. For someone who isn't all that advanced, it is awesome. There are hundreds of videos. I don't know how advanced they go, but I've been watching a lot of the beginner stuff. I really like the way he teaches (wish I was located near him to go with private lessons.)
He sells DVD lessons as well, and going by his vids on the site, I am thinking of buying some of his DVD's. I've been on a lot of good free stuff, Justinguitar.com comes to mind for the best, as well as I get some email newsletter lessons from Griff Hamlin (google for both of those, they are pretty good with many free lessons on Justinguitar.com and both Justin and Griff Hamlin also sell DVDs.) But so far of all the videos I've watched, Marty Schwartz is the one I like the most.
I just wanted to toss that out to fellow guitar players and guitar player wannabees like me, hehe. Head over to GuitarJamz.com and check it out. Really excellent stuff with hundreds of videos to watch for free for 3 days (I haven't figured out how much it is to join permanently, but I probably will join.)
And, any guitar players here on the board, give a shout out in this thread. I've seen some guitar threads in the Community section, so I'm sure you're out there somewhere.
