video games and ratings/should kids play GTA?

Most kids i know have video games. should gamers below 18 be able to buy and play mature rated games like Grand Theft Auto?
Should certain games be banned entirely and recalled?

I hope not, if only so I can keep playing my video games.

I think that kids who know the diffrence between a video game and real life should be able to. I have that game, and after playing it, I didn't feel like going outside and car-jacking someone, because I know that GTA is a video game, and that real life is real life. The kids who play that game though, then try to act all "gangsta", shouldn't. If your going to take a game so siriously to think that you can do that kind of stuff and get away with it, should be given a SIRIOUS dose of reality.

my friend has always been influenced by his games, trying to be CJ from GTA and stuff like that.
And he doesn't even have the Game! His brother does.
He spends too much money on toy guns and video games, never does his homework/classwork etc.

Well some of those fighting games can actually have a good influence. I have a 10 year old cousin who plays a ton of those Medal of Honor and Call of Duty games, and it's inspired him to want to be a soldier. I see nothing wrong with that.

Is Socom 3 out yet? When my dad went to Wal-Mart they didn't have it, and when we went over to Meijer they didn't have it. So I ended up with Call Of Duty.

i like to go to video game websites, and saw this link to where a judge sentenced a gamer to the death penalty. I clicked on the link. but nothing happened. i did look at the web adress and it said GTA 3 PS2. i am a nintendo fan, and like mario and zelda and the classics, and probably my favorite shooter is nightfire on the gc on multiplayer. i like the games like advance wars and fire emblem and will buy them on GC. studios like rockstar should be shut down to tell you the truth, they are coming with another game called bully, and people will go off and imitate this. i wish we could go back to the golden age of gaming sometimes. and don't call me a kid, i am probably older than quite a few people that post on the teen forum

007 Nightfire is an awsome game. Oh the battles me and my friends have had on that game.

But personally, my favorite shooter is Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun.

okay...im going to go completely off topic ( ) and answer the 'favorite type' question. my favorite is kingdom hearts...yup. and the type would be rpg. final fantasy = <3.

You would be supprised at just how easy it is for someone under 18 to buy a mature rated game. I know a lot of kids that bought their copy of GTA themselves.
