A tugboat was in the right place at the right time!

Last Thursday afternoon, the Disney Dream was arriving in Port Canaveral when it appeared that a smaller ship ran into a bit of difficulty in the area. As the situation unfolded, it was caught by the PTZtv cameras.

I’m looking at two things here. The amount of power found in the turning water of the boat pushing in the casino. And the second would be that green boat that appears to be doing irresponsible things. But I’m not knowledgeable on these matters so he very well could’ve been doing something legitimate.

The Dream's port side thrusters were really going and sliding the Dream away from the area, Wonder how close they really came? Where is a drone when you need it?

you'd learn a few things if you saw this with SOUND ... it's around

1. The green boat is the sheriff department security boat ... it's job is to flit around like a fly and generally be annoying .....

2. The boat that ended up pushing the casino boat having trouble getting out of the way was the PILOT boat ... not their job but they were there and stepped in .... where's a tug when you need one? (there was no legal requirement for a tug in this situation)

3. Not sure where you see bow thruster wash from them 'really going' ... standard transit speed for a cruise ship thru here is 7 knots and bow thrusters have virtually NO effect after 2 knots. <Having worked as a Captain for several years I think I know of what I speak . . . and worked ships in PC for 3 years as deck officer>

4. IMO if ANYTHING the DCL ship turned too far entering the channel and had they NOT turned too far would have never been in question with the casino boat. As the situation progresses and DCL straightens up you see she is clear of the other .... area in question

What I see is DCL turned too far at the 'port turn' entering the channel ... crowding what was happening on the south side piers' Pilots are partially to blame .... let two vessels get too close together alto I doubt they really did .... bad video angle .... had DCL not recovered, there might have been a problem.
