Video Chat/MDE account question

My dad is the one requesting DAS for our upcoming trip, he used it on our last trip, but we did the request in person at guest relations at Epcot.

I am planning the trip and have all reservations and park tickets linked to my MDE account. Everyone in our party is listed as a family or friend in my account. Can we use my account to do the video chat to request DAS? If he gets approved, I will be the one making the DAS return times for the family. I’d like to have everything tied to my account since I’m the planner of the trip. Is this something we can do?

Yes, I used my daughter's MDE account when I registered online. The DAS was for me, but she handles all the planning since it reduces my anxiety when she's in charge of all that.

Thank you, that’s helpful. I tried to register my dad today using my MDE account and the CM said I had to use his account. That didn’t seem right, the CM could see my dad’s theme park reservations and tickets and that he was linked to my account, but insisted I had to log in to video chat through my dad’s account and not mine. I might try again tomorrow.

Your Dad has to be on the phone call anyway so why not just log in using his account instead of yours? Anyone in the DAS party can make DAS reservations in the parks.

I tried logging into my dad’s account. It did not show any park reservations or tickets in his account. His reservations only show up in my account. I don’t know why. I really don’t want to have to get Disney IT involved.

Does your Dad have 2 profiles? If he has his own MDE, he should not have a profile that you manage - linked, yes, but not managed by you. You may need to get that profile transferred to his MDE.

I think he might have 2 accounts. He was surprised that he even had an account, lol. I’m sure myself or my husband created it for him years ago. His MDE account is under his first name, but the name in my MDE account is under his middle name which is the name he goes by. I was hoping we could do the video chat through my account. If not, I guess the worst case scenario is we do it when we get to Disney. I’m nervous that if Disney IT starts to tinker with our accounts, things will be messed up for our trip.

I have my own account, which I use for Play Disney. It is in my whole name. My daughter did not add me through that account into hers - she made a new profile for me, with exactly the same name. I had no problem using my daughter's account to get DAS under my name with the profile she created for me. I wouldn't have tickets or reservations on my MDE as my daughter handles all that with her MDE account. Not sure why they even knew he had his own account? They have to see the reservations/tickets in order to do the DAS and pre-selections.
