I am leaving to go to WDW in March. I would like to get a video camera before then. Any suggestions? I don't have a TON of money but I could put one on layaway. Thanks in advance for the help!

We saved up last year and bought a Canon NTSCZR 80 and we LOVE it. We bought it at Best Buy...we have a Rewards card so that gave us enough for another $5 in gc. We love the Best Buy in our area!!

It wasn't the most expensive and it wasn't the cheapest...this, and at Christmas shopping, are great times to get a camera....they seem to be all on sale.

My biggest tip is when you see cassettes on sale...buy them!! or it can get to be more expensive than the camera :cool1:

Hope I've helped.

You can check out various camcorders at www.camcorderinfo.com

They have pretty comprehensive reviews of most, if not all, of the latest camcorders available. I would probably recommend a MiniDV model from one of the well known manufacturers such as Sony, Canon, JVC, or Panasonic.

Most of the reviews also have links to online retailers that offer pretty attractive pricing, although that eliminates the layaway option.

I got a Sony DVD 301 for Christmas. I make the videos and them just pop them into the DVD player and I have DVD's of my home video. Also takes still shots but not great ones. I don't have the time to deal with editing and so forth and this is so easy for me. I have enough stress in my life. Good luck with your decision.
