My DS would like to take videos on a daily basis, and I'm just not willing to give him full access to the family camera. Does anyone have any recommendations for a child friendly video camera?

Thanks!

I have something called a Flip Video that would also be great for a kid. It is super easy to use, the USB flips right out so that you can upload them to the computer for viewing/saving and you can put them in his own folder and he can view them when he wants. I got mine at Target about a year ago and I carry it around with me in the diaper bag. When I bought mine they only had a silver one and a sliver/black one....now they have some funky kid-friendly colors to choose from. I really like mine. I think you can get them in a 30 minute one and a 60 minute one. I have the 60 minute one. You just record, transfer to your computer or DVD, and then erase if off of your camera to make room for more. No tapes to buy or anything! And they run on 2 AA batteries! I got mine for like $120, I think.

ChristusG - off to check out that link!

tinkerjess - sorry, have no clue what the Kids V-cam is. Do you have a link or know the maker?

Thanks! :)

small wonder is another good model. Both my kids use theirs a lot! They are very similar to the flip video. You can find them at smallwonder.com

We have the small wonder and DD who is 4 takes videos with it all the time. Some we keep on the computer but many we just delete. We got the small wonder because we had a really good Circuit City coupon for it and I think the deciding factor for the Small Wonder over the FLip was we were able to get one that you can use a video card in....I am not sure about that though.

Okay, have to check out the small wonder also, thanks for that information!

I'm not very tech savy, but the video camera we have right now records onto small discs that we play in our dvd player. I'm guessing that the video card would have to be uploaded onto the computer, and then burned onto a cd?

Also, anyone know if there is some kind of gadget that you can take the videos off the Flip if you don't have access to a computer? The reason I ask is because we have an upcoming Disney trip, and I know he'll want to record more than 60 minutes of video.

Thanks so much for any help!
