Edited to say THANK YOU to the poster that filled me in on the correct spelling. It is a Mansard roof. OK--So how expensive to replace?
Thanks again!!

We are thinking about purchasing a victorian-style home. Just in the "looking phase" right now, but the more we see of this beautiful house, the more we love it.
It does need a new roof, which is keeping the price down a bit. We are having someone go and give us an estimate tomorrow, but I wanted to ask opinions here.
The woman selling the home says it is a "Manfred" (I could be spelling that wrong) style roof. Anyone? I can't find anything on this on Goolgle, so I know I am spelling it wrong.
Anyone else put a new roof on a much older home? We want to keep with the original style as much as possible.
Any opinions welcome..
