I went in to return some of DD's Christmas presents that didn't fit and saw VS was having it's Semi Annual sale...$15.99 for bras. Since I have not been measured since I was 16, I had the girl measure me, as I have had a hard time finding a bra to fit. I am a 36 B so I thought, she told me I was a 34 DDD!!!!!!!!! I can't believe that size is correct but I bought 3 and they fit well. My DD is a 34 DDD and she is much larger and gets her bras at Lane Bryant or a bra boutique ($65 each) she only weighs 135 lbs. If I had the time I would have gone to Macy's and had a measurement there. Oh well, I bought 3 bras that fit for $15.99, I doubt they last long. So so VS bras run true to size?

Their bras last FOREVER if you take really good care of them. I have several that are at least 3 years old. I wash them on the delicate cycle with just a few other things, and lay them flat to dry on a drying rack, after reshaping them. I only buy them when they are on sale, so this time of year is a party :rotfl: I had some serious back issues when I wasn't wearing proper support before I found their line, and was measured. Like you I was wearing a VERY wrong size.

Some sizes can "sister size" (where you can increase the rib cage size and decrease the cup size) from what I understand, but once you get into the smaller rib cage sizes they don't recommend it because it doesn't give the support you need. (just what I was told, and it makes sense)

I find they do run true to size, and once you get hooked on them, you won't want other brands. For me at least they are more supportive, and don't stretch out like other brands tend to.

Thank you for the heads up! My favourite one is getting threadbare on the back! :thumbsup2

I worked at VS a long time ago and unless things have changed they are not professional bra fitters. It it works for you- great, but Macys professionals will give you a better fitting.

Also most bras have to be tried on. From one line to another things should be tried on.

I have to agree. The women that have worked at department stores forever are much more experienced.

That said, OP, I am surprised you could find bras there in that size. When I was a 38 C I rarely found them at the store, let alone during the sale. I just assumed that was the biggest they carried and they didn't have many. Good job getting a bargain and a bra that fits! :thumbsup2 It really makes a difference in how you look.

I love VS products but do find that they run smaller than other brands. They will last forever though!

I was a store manager there for 3 years--2011-2013. In 2012 they revamped their bra training process to certify associates to bra fit. It is a 90 day process of classes, tests and observations before you are " bra certified". I still use that training in my new job as a maternity store manager. From my experience-- department stores do not put that much training into their bra fitters. From my experience, department store bras run big and VS runs true to size. When you use a measuring tape to find out the band size ( or rib cage, as a PP said), there is not a lot of room for error. That is the "starting point". At VS we were always trained to go in the fitting room and look at the bra on the client-- is it gapping, bulging, too tight or too loose? The band should be snug enough to only fit two fingers beneath, and this is on the loosest hook. The band is 80% of the bra's support, so if you get a bra that is too loose around, you will not "sit right" in the cups.

I'll get off my bra box now :)

That's exactly what she said, I also like that they had a light t-shirt in the fitting room to try on over the bra. I still feel the fit is tight but then the bras I had been wearing were super loose. I kept getting bigger because the band in back rode up so I thought they were too tight, not loose. Sadly the girls are starting to need some support so the look under the clothes is much better.
