We've dined at V&A around a dozen times along with other restaurants rated this highly. We are very adventurous and enjoy new things everywhere we travel.
However, it might help you to think of V&A as an experience rather than just a meal. We have one son and daughter in law who are not very adventurous and they enjoy going with us here. They do not always like every course but they enjoy more than not and they do love the service, the exquisite plating, the harpist, etc.
I highly recommend the Wagyu beef if you are a plain eater. The meat is pretty much left alone and it's fabulous. I'm not a lover of beef, much prefer fish, but this course is quite good.
