My husband wants to try it but I'm kind of a plain eater. I do like to get dressed up, though. Have any non-adventerous eaters out there took the risk and loved it? Thanks!

I'm a fairly non-adventurous eater and have been to V&A's. We went a few years ago and I really did enjoy it. Some things did stretch my envelop a bit, but it was certainly a spectacular meal. So much so that my wife and I are going back for our 15th anniversary in just a few months.

We've dined at V&A around a dozen times along with other restaurants rated this highly. We are very adventurous and enjoy new things everywhere we travel.

However, it might help you to think of V&A as an experience rather than just a meal. We have one son and daughter in law who are not very adventurous and they enjoy going with us here. They do not always like every course but they enjoy more than not and they do love the service, the exquisite plating, the harpist, etc.

I highly recommend the Wagyu beef if you are a plain eater. The meat is pretty much left alone and it's fabulous. I'm not a lover of beef, much prefer fish, but this course is quite good.

First of all, it is not just the food, but it is the entire experience.

But the food is absolute top quality. Nothing is over-spiced. Some of the items you may not even be aware of what you are eating, but that everything does go together.

And for an AAA Five Diamond-rated restaurant, it is probably very close to the lowest price.

Thanks for the responses! My husband and I have been to a few places with similar offerings, but there's always a "safe". chicken entree for me. I am excited about the experience of Victoria and Albert's, but I just didn't want to offend anyone by ordering a coke and (possibly) not finishing what's on my plate. (I know how my grandma feels when I don't finish the food she puts on my plate! ;) )

You will be fine not finishing each plate. I rarely do as there are so many courses.

And enjoy that coke. They will be happy to serve it to you.

I am an Iced Tea drinker and not into wine at all. And they don't refill when I run out, they bring a fresh glass (with a lemon slice)

We ate there last month in the Queen Victoria's room and it was amazing. We had the wine pairings also and it was an experience. I think you should go and enjoy it. It was so much fun getting dressed up and trying all of the fantastic food and wine.
