Hello, Dis-ers!!!!!! DH and I just booked our Dec 2012 trip for my 50th birthday!!!!:cool1: we just started talking about where to have my birthday dinner. We have been to most of the signatures on regular trips, so the idea of V&A came up......we looked at some sample menus on all ears. We liked some of the offerings but there were some where we didn't think we would enjoy any of the choices......Does anyone have any input? Should we avoid this restaurant?

Any other suggestions for a special dinner for 2 adults who have enjoyed most of the signatures already?

Tia!!!!!

First of all, go to www.victoria-alberts.com and check the menus there.

Next, about a week before your reservation you will be called for confirmation. At that timne you can tell them of any allergies or strong dislikes and they will modify the menu so your choices shown will work for you.

And in any event you will be surprised with the qaulity and taste of the food.

Of course they can only modify the menu so much.
Essentially you will be stuck with whatever happens to be on the menu that day. They can certainly alter preparations, etc but as an example, if you don't like the fish entree on the menu and would rather have a different kind of fish, you're probably out of luck.

And if you want steak you are REALLY out of luck as they don't offer any except at an extra price.

When my husband and I went, we were given two menus. One was the normal menu, and another was a vegetarian menu. We were allowed to pick and choose from both menus. This worked well for us, because we both HATE fish!

When they took our order, and noticed we choose from the veg. menu instead of the main menu for the fish course, they specifically asked if we disliked sea-food. When we told her yes, she had the chef switch out one part of our appetizer course, because it was some-sort of sea-food.

There were one or two things we tried and didn't like, but it was so much food to begin with, we didn't mind. (We had a salad with flower petals, and thin strips of Bison. Not something I think I would ever eat again.) Even though we dislike some of the foods, it was our best and favorite dining experience!

They are pretty good with accommodating dietary requirements when you phone to make your ADR. For example I told them that my wife didn't like seafood, so when we received our menus at the start of the meal my fish course was still the standard choices, whereas my wife had a pork belly dish (that scott had made up for her - this pleased her immensely!), or the veggie option listed as her choices.
