It's Day 6 of our trip and we feel the urge to spend
. Well us girlies do
. The boys were like
our money
. But we find if you ignore them they get over it
or give them the sad eyes
.
DGM and DGD went to several flea markets in the 2006 trip but the rest of us didn't. So our first port of call was Main Gate Flea Market. This place is huge! We looked at EVERYTHING for sale - well it wasn't quite but my DH thinks it was
There were some good bargins, which we bought some of. We have a lot of people to buy for and although I love buying at theme parks that can work out expensive. So we saved a bit this way.
My DD3 didn't spend a thing last year so she had last years spending money and what she had saved up for this trip. I think last year we did too much so she had no energy for buying. This year was different. We were doing things at a better pace so she was joining in the spending. Plus she had about 3 times as much as her sisters saved.
DD2 saw and fell in love with a HUGE hello kitty pendant necklace. It was about $30 so I said to her to think about it. We walked away and went to a different section only to find the same thing but priced a lot cheaper! That was it, she couldn't hold on any longer and bought it. She has worn it nearly everyday since, so it was a good buy. She has been stopped both in the US and UK to be asked where she got it from. It's a lot of bling (My DD1 has banded me from saying that, but hopefully she'll not read this so I'm safe.)
We shopped all morning and into the afternoon. My DD1 saw a T-shirt with a rather rude saying on it and has regreted not buying it ever since. Does that warrent another holiday? To buy a T-shirt hmmm I think it does
She has a thing for cowboys so I guess we'll have to go back, it would be mean not to.
The whole gang really enjoyed this trip out and decided to try out the Golden Corral for tea. We had seen signs for them so jumping into our cars we decided to go to the first one we saw. It wasn't that far away.
Walking into it we didn't know if it was going to be expensive or if the food was good. So we are a little nervous but starving! You queue up and pay for your meal and get a drink. Some drinks like Coke are refilled free. The cost came to $41 for all of us. I paid and wandered away thinking there must have been a mistake...
We had a pile of plates and each took one and wandered over to have a look at what was on offer. Well it might be easier and quicker to say what they didn't have! There was something for everyone from baked potatoes and salad, to chicken and beef, to meatloaf and chips, mash potates (I loved this) to vegies, pizza... You get the idea? There was such a range.
After our main meal we headed off to see the puds and it was just the same, ice cream, cakes - lots of them, biscuits, hot puds etc..
After eating too much, we didn't want to seem rude
we all waddled out to the car. There was no way we could do anything after that.
We made it back to the villa with several cries of "I ate too much". DGM and DGD went for a nap, the rest of us relaxed and watched TV.
When our tummy had settled down we jumped in the pool for a few hours. My DDs will swim into the night if allowed.
It was a great day with no photos taken. I did see a tourist at the Golden Corral videoing the food. He was English and was amazed. He wanted to show the folks back in the UK.
I swam but also did some
.
It wasn't an early night as we were heading to Mardi Gras at Universal late in the afternoon the next day.

PS Because you all love seeing photos I have included a selection from the 2006 trip. I never did a trip report of this because I only found this forum in time for 2007 trip. Enjoy.
