We are leaving in 2 weeks. We are staying for 5 nights so we will get 5 sit down meals on our dining plan.

We have 4 restaurants that are definite.

We have a dinner res for Via Napoli, (5th res) but I was wondering if we should use our dining plan for this or pay out of pocket? I am thinking we might just get pizza.

We could always use our last sit down with our dining plan on another day we do not have a reservation for.

If you have dined here, have you just gotten pizza? is it worth using dining plan on should we just pay out of pocket?

2 adults and 2 kids 15 & 13

Thanks

You should know they won't allow you to share individual pizzas if you use the dining plan, meaning you can't use 1 credit to feed two or more people.

Used to be you could spend 2 credits for a large pizza and 4 credits for a 1/2 meter, but I think I have seen that they are now limiting DDP pizza orders to individual pizzas. Which means, since you are all DDP adults, each of you will need to order your own individual pizza if you all want pizza.

I am thinking both of my kids would want individual pizza so that would not be a problem. My husband may even want one as well. I am thinking I might try chicken parm.

How big are the individual pizzas? My 15 year old should have no problem eating one, I just hope it is enough. (or he may eat what my daughter does not finish)

They're pretty big. I don't eat a whole one myself. I eat two slices and take the other two with me.

If you have another place you want to try, you might do okay OOP at Via Napoli.

Get the 1/2 meter pizza, the $5/pp salad, an app and/or dessert to share and you're still under $100.

The individuals are a decent size, but b/c of the thin crust, they don't go as far as you think. I would OOP and get the large one.

Do they want dessert? If yes, go dining plan.

We were on DxDP at the end of September and ordered a large pizza and were charged 2 TS credits, but there were only 2 of us which is why they may have let us do this.

Even though it's "just pizza", it's still pretty expensive compared to what you would pay for pizza back home. Might not be as cheap as you think. Although I will say we weren't fond of the dessert choices so if you don't think you'd want dessert, then it might make more sense to pay OOP.

Have you been to Via Napoli before? Do you have a large Italian community back home? I only ask this because I see tons of review about how great Via Napoli is and well its good but its not something I couldn't get localy. So I did it once but probably wouldn't do it again. If you haven't been and really want to try it go for it. Maybe you could do it out of pocket if your just getting a pizza and then if the kids or you want desert you could pick something up somewhere else in Epcot. I'd only use the ts if you were planning to something other then pizza for dinner.

We ate at Via Napoli in August. We were on the dining plan and had meals plus dessert. The pizza looked seriously to die for! And they're big. Some ate the whole pizza and some took leftovers with them. As far as meals go, my son had a candlestick pasta dish with mini meatballs, my daughter had the seafood pasta (mussels, clams, shrimp and squid (I can spell that word!!:rotfl:)), and I had veal parmesian. All were excellent. Service was excellent, the view was pretty (we sat in the "patio" area), and it was just a nice dining experience.

If you've ever had brick oven pizza or coal fired pizza before, its the exact same. The only thing different is that its probably twice the price. BUT its good, the place is cool, the servers were very nice (male servers were easy on the eyes) and if you have picky eaters, they will like it.

How large of an order was the Veal Parmesan? We are eating there on Sunday.
want to try both pizza and the veal.We are thinking about splitting veal and indiv pizza.

I had 3 nice sized, thinly sliced pieces, which were served with fingerling potatoes instead of spaghetti. An interesting twist, and it was actually very good. The veal was cooked perfectly, and not over-cheesed. I would definitely order it again next time we go. Enjoy!

Thank You ! Sounds like sharing the veal and pizza would be enough for 2 .

I am having the same issue - We have the "free" DP, but I am going to be paying OOP for 1 meal. It's either going to be breakfast at Chef Mickey or Dinner at Via Napoli. Which one do you think would be cheaper? It's myself, DH and DD3. I am wondering if me & my DD3 would be able to split an individual pizza and my husband get his own as well. Would they let us do that if we are paying OOP and would there be enough food? :confused3

The individual pizzas run around $18 each. You can get a 1/2 meter pizza for $41 and a large for $30. I know all of you could share the 1/2 meter and have more than enough. You could probably share the large. And if you're wanting different kinds, they will half n half it. Add the salad for $5 each and you're all set.

Check the price of the breakfast. Buffet's are a set price then check price of the pizza. We, as a rule, only do buffet's on the DDP. I have two girls 12 and 14 and they could easily split an individual and skip dessert.

I checked on CM for breakfast and it's going to run about $110 with tax & tip(2 adults & 3 yr old). I'm thinking we can get out of Via Napoli at dinner cheaper and pay for it OOP. Thanks for the input! Sorry to the OP for hijacking your thread. :flower3:
