Reports it could be open as soon as Aug 5th. I'm a little confused as they say it will be a sit down table service dining location. I thought this was to be a quick service location. Maybe they will have a quick service window? Anyway, it's something new for Kevin to review.

My understanding is that it will be both.
And I think the new Mexico Cantina will be both as well.

I think they are trying the concept of Quick Service in the day time and table service for dinner. Napoli may have a walk up window available at all hours, but I do believe there will be limited TS hours.

I think this new concept is what they are planning for Fantasyland as well.

When I was there last week, another DISer and I were told that it would be opening up in September yet it's said to open in August according to the blog. I think the CM who told us may have not heard the most current of information.

According to the blog post linked above, the official opening date is September. They're doing a soft opening to work out the kinks in August. (but with a grand opening celebration on August 5? Sheesh, this is confusing!)

A soft opening is pretty common with restaurants & retail establishments. I'll bet the cast member you spoke to was dishing out the official info.

if they are going to continue to build their packages around dining, which is becoming more and more evident, then adding table service establishments is vital. remember, that is the single biggest reason to leave the property.

I thought the original rumors mentioned pizza by the slice. I can't imagine you will be ordering slices of pizza at a table service restaurant. It sounds like it's setting up to be more like Mama Melrose.

Dalt's comment makes sense. Disney may be moving toward lower cost table service offerings. Pizza, some hot sandwiches, and maybe some pasta offerings make for a better "free" offering from Disney's stand point. I would bet we will see more of the table service locations moving to two credits, like LeCelier, as cheaper table service offerings pop up. We may see the further dumbing down of other existing single credit menus.

... The construction area is much, much bigger than I thought it would be!

The menu and pricing are out on the net. No sandwiches, but the expected wood fired pizza (no slices), salads, and meat and pasta dishes. Looks promising.
