Via Napoli....well.........

I find it next to impossible to find good pizza anywhere these days thanks to Domino’s and I was really hoping this would be good.
.

Where do u live? theres a place in NJ that has the best pizza I have ever tried.

My son lived in Italy last year (study abroad) and the pizza I am seeing pictured for Via Napoli looks very much as he describes real Italian pizza (and looks like the pictures he took of his food).

I've been to Italy myself.

What I have seen in pictures and what I have read, the pizza is real Italian pizza. In Italy, it's not about the quantity of ingredients... it's about the quality. The crust is super thin and crispy and the ingredients are lightly applied so no one thing over powers the taste of anything else.

AKA don't go to Via Napoli thinking you will get an American style pizza. You won't be getting something like you get in New York or Chicago or anywhere else.

not sure if we are planning on trying this in movember while there or not. we love the pizza at the boardwalk so we will probablly go there instead. love bein gon the boardwalk and you can eat good pizza and people watch two of my favorite things to do.

can you buy just a slice of pizza at the new place?

Please share where is good Pizza at the Boardwalk? Thanks!!:)

I had lunch over there the week they opened. The presentation and atmosphere was great but like the original poster said I also received poor service and did not love the food I had. Here are some pics of my dinner and trust me it looks much better than it tasted. The full review link is below the photos.

i believe it's just called the boardwalk pizza window. not sure exactly which resteraunts it's between but if your on the boardwalk you can't miss it. we stayed in the villa's for 10 days and my teenage boys couldn't go to the room every night without pizza. you can get it by the slice or while. we really enjoy it.

To be honest I really did not like the pizza at the Boardwalk window. I had it last year and never again. We do not like Domino's or Pizza hut either.

I live in the NJ / NY area and we have a lot of great pizza places. I also grew up in Italy and the photos look a lot like the pizzas in Italy. Personally I am looking forward to trying the pizza at Via Napoli because frankly the pizza that I have had in the past at different locations inside WDW really stinks and normally stay away from it. The only exception is WPuck in downtown Disney

I don't like the Boardwalk pizza either. Honestly, Dominos and Pizza Hut are better and cheaper. It does provide a quick meal for my DD when she's hungry but it's not anything I would go out of my way for.

LOL! Isn't it so funny how we all have a different opinion about just about everywhere. i will say that i won't be going out of my way to get pizza from the boardwalk window. if we go over for a night then we will have a piece but not making any special trips for it.

We tried Via Napoli last week and loved the pizza. There was 7 of us so we tried a few things but thought the pizza was the best. Personally I think Pepe's in New Haven is the best pizza I've ever had but the Quattro Formaggi was excellent and the Pepperoni was very good. I also like the cork-screw pasta (don't remember the name). The Spag and meatballs and ribbon pasta were good but I wouldn't order them. Absolutely loved the Zeppole and Ugly but good sundae! :cool1:

Good to hear! Thanks!

We had lunch there last month & also had the large pepperoni pizza. We thought it was excellent. We have eaten a lot of pizza in Italy & this is authentic italian pizza. As others have said don't go there expecting american pizza. It is not overloaded with cheese & toppings. What it does have is slices of the best mozzarella cheese I think I've ever had. They said they make it in house & it was delicious. We split the large 3 ways (myself, DH, & DS12). It was more than enough & we had 2 slices left over. Unless you're really big eaters I would say a large can easily feed 3 adults. Yes, $27.00 is more then you would pay for a pizza at home, but this is Disney. IMHO $9 pp at a TS restaurant is not a bad price.

And no offense to the people that like the Boardwalk pizza but DH & I grabbed a slice when we stayed there last year & it was the worst pizza I've ever had. It had so much cheese & hardly any sauce on it I couldn't even eat it. Two bites & I threw it in the trash. Never again.

I have been reading about the Boardwalk pizza on this board for years and I must say the majority of posters seem to think it's awful. It is complained about so often that I am always surprised when someone says they enjoy it...

Domino's has changed and now they are better than the pizza we've had at WDW. I had hoped that this new place was better.

Have you tried Brooklyn's? I know one of their locations is off of Lebanon. If you sign up to be on their email list you can get good coupons. The guy who started the local chain is from NY and the pizza is really good. We also like Primo Brothers in North Dallas and Scalini's off the access road to Jupiter/Renner has nice thin-crust pizza--but I would rank it third of the three.

Wow, this is the first negative review I had read about VN, the many others have been great reviews of the pizza, cant wait to try it for myself!

We'll be eating there in 2 weeks -- two different reservations with two different groups on different days. We'll be sure to post our reviews when we get back.

Based on what I've read so far, I'm excited to go and hope it lives up to the expectations.. but I'll share the bad news if it doesn't live up to the hype.

There's multiple types of authentic Italian pizza btw... depending on region, it's either the thin crispy type, or extra thick bread-type. Both are 'authentic', but depending on what you're used to, it may not be your preference.

We enjoyed it so much the first time that we went back a second time!

These are individual sized pizzas and fed 2 adults. We also shared the house salad. I agree that the salad was really good.
