Via Napoli wait times??

We ate here on Aug. 10, around 7:00 pm - we had a 20 minute wait. When we got there, it was fairly quiet, but as we waited, we heard the wait times go from 20 minutes to 45-60.

There were 3 of us, and we had the frito misto (mixed fried appetizer), the quatro stagioni pizza and an order of fusilloni Trapenes pasta.

The pasta was very good in flavor and fresh, although it was light on sauce - I would have preferred a bit more sauce for the amount of pasta. The appetizer was also good, it included various fried vegetables and calamari with marinara.

Our only real complaint was the pizza, and maybe the service. Our waiter wasn't very good at helping us determine what to order, and he disappeared once our food arrived. When we asked how large the appetizer was, he said yes, very big. We mentioned a couple of times that we aren't very big eaters, and he smiled and shrugged. We ordered it anyway, just to try it, and asked about the size of the pizzas; one of us was eating the pasta, only two would eat pizza and we thought the individual might be the way to go. Our waiter gave us an indication that the large was the size of a small dinner plate, so we gave in and ordered the large against our better judgement. It was waaay too big for the two of us, and when we finally saw an individual pizza being carried to another table, that is definitely the size we should have ordered!

We were also surprised to see that what we thought would be an artichoke, ham, mushroom and eggplant pizza was actually a pizza divided into quarters - one topping per quarter. The crust is excellent, some of the best we've tasted, but the sauce was a bit too runny for our tastes. Very fresh, and I'm sure that's why it was watery, but it tended to make that wonderful crisp crust a bit soggy by the end of the meal.

Anyway, we enjoyed our meal, although we left a lot of food behind. I guess we'll know for next time. Oh, and the dessert was fantastic - the Coppa di Brutti ma Buoni. "Ugly but good cookies" crumbled over vanilla gelato with Amarena cherries and their sauce drizzled over. We licked it clean, lol.
