"Via Napoli" --- Now we know why..... !!!

We have a ressie here in August and I'm really excited to try it! Are there any restrictions when using the DDP (other than no sharing)? I read on another thread that there were only four pizza varieties to choose from on DDP but it was an old thread.

I can't decide whether to pay OOP or use credits here. On the one hand, it's an affordable meal if we pay OOP and get one large pizza, but on the other hand we have one less adventurous eater and two small children in our group so we'd probably be stuck with something fairly plain going this route. (And personally, I want to try the pizza with artichokes and truffle oil - yum!)

There are 4 pizzas to choose from. Quatro Formaggi (4 cheese), Pepperoni, Sausage (Piccante), and the last one is eluding me. They are personal sized pizzas cut into 4 decently sized pieces.

My wife and I always go to Via Napoli on our trips (well, since it opened anyways) and she always gets the Quatro Formaggi and I will switch between pepperoni and sausage(Piccante). We use the DlxDP which includes the appetizer, entree and dessert at almost all of our meals. I usually get the Prosciutto e Melon and she likes the Salame e Provolone for appetizers and dessert is the Tiramisu for me and Zeppole di Caterina for the wife. We have never been disappointed.

Between Via Napoli, Rose & Crown, Biergarten, and Akershus we get two full days in at Epcot on our trips. During the F & W festival we spend 3 or 4 days there.

Now you'll understand why I have made a tradition of having the first dinner of my vacation at Via Napoli! The arancini are fantastic. I usually do the candele pasta dish followed by the zeppoles for dessert.

I've seen the menu, but there are more than 4 different signature pizzas (plus the create-your-own option). So if there are only 4 choices when using a DDP credit, that means you can't choose from the full menu. I'm curious to know what the menu choices are when using DDP, if its different from the regular full menu.

The last thing I read was a few years old but what they basically said was any entree or individual signature pizza (larger pizzas for multiple credits). If you want a build-your-own, it has to be plain or you can pay OoP for toppings.

We haven't eaten at Via Napoli but we have eaten at Naples in DTD Anaheim. We didn't care for the pizza there and they are owned by the same company.

Should we bother trying Via Napoli?

Coming from a Jersey Girl who is Italian-American and picky about pizza, I would recommend Via Napoli to anyone. However, the pizza they serve at the quick service window is not so good. So I can see how people think the pizza is the same inside.

I love Via Napoli!!! I love the Pizza's, I love the Pasta, I love the Desserts!!! I always suggest this place to anyone!! It's great for anyone, of any age, even picky eaters.

It's a MUST every trip and sometimes twice We have tried many menu items and LOVE most everything! If you get a chance try the Caesar Salad as a starter...they are Huge so a share for sure but they are delish!!

The posts here really surprise me. OK I am a pizza snob from NY, but I can accept a good pizza anywhere. Our last trip we ate at Napoli and the pizza was awful. To me it was step above frozen pizza. I guess tastes are personal. LOL On the other hand I do love the Tutto Gusto wine cellar. Great small plates, great deserts and you can order from the restaurant menu, Veal meatballs, Yum!!

LOL yep tastes are very very personal.

I'm no pizza snob but, I'm sorry to say this, when I went to NY for the first time and tried the pizza there due to how highly regarded it is there....I was vastly disappointed. Maybe its because I didn't go to one of those small mom and pop stores, which is probably vastly superior to any hand tossed pizza out there in the states. Sorry again.

It also doesn't help that I live in Chicago and I grew up on deep dish. Which I'd take over thin or hand tossed any day of the week.

Now if I ever get to go to Italy, that will probably change.
