After having 2 nice pizza lunches at via napoli, we decided to give it a try for dinner. We usually eat at the hotels, but thought this would be a good change. We were wrong.
We had a reservation, which was confirmed by Disney Destination e-mail. Seemed good to go. When we arrived, we still had to wait, despite many empty tables. Then we were led thru the entire restaurant to the worst table, next to the waiter stand and the entrance to the bathrooms. There were still lots of empty tables & I saw a party from the walk-in line get seated at a much better table. I complained & we were moved to a table next to a different waiter stand. At that point, family just wanted to eat & we endured being jostled throughout dinner.
We didn't have pizza. Another mistake. The pasta was over priced and not that good. My DH's eggplant was literally six thin slices... a little oily & oddly served with potatoes.
$130 for dinner for 3 with no wine & 2 desserts. Compare to tonight, where at Universal, we ate at Emeril's new place "Tchoup tchoup" for $130 for dinner for 3 with glass of wine & 2 desserts... a much better meal.
My mistake on Via Napoli. Just because a place makes good pizza & you can have a pleasant lunch on the porch doesn't mean a good dinner spot. We may return for lunch someday, but I am not happy about giving business to a restaurant that treated us sub par.
