via Napoli half & half pizza questions

I think I read that Via Napoli will do certain types of pizzas half and half.

Will they do a plain quattro formaggi half with proscuitto e melone on the other half?

And they will only do this on the large pizzas, correct?

I am not sure about the proscuitto e melone, but we've been able to do that with pepperoni and the quattro formaggi for a large pizza. I would think the policy would be the same.

my local place won't mix tomato and white on the same pizza so I was looking for something with the same base but that's even better!

Is the Quattro Formaggi a white base? I don't remember that... I've had that pizza at least three times now.

The nice thing about mixing them is actually in the amount of cheese. Normally with the pepperoni pizza, they don't give a lot of cheese - it looks very saucy in photos I've seen. But when you mix it with quattro formaggi, it seems that that totally changes it up!

I think they would do anything half and half. As the other poster said, we do the Quattro and Pepperoni all the time, so they will mix sauces.

yes the quattro formaggi is a white base! I have never been there but it looks it from pictures and says it on the menu. Of course now my child is all "well mom, now I eat pizza with sauce, remember? I might just get pepperoni!" Sounds like he can get whatever the heck he wants, but that proscuitto e melone will be mine (I normally prefer pizza with sauce to white pizza but that one sounds amazing!)

My boyfriend is Italian and we are both from NY and he makes a decent homemade pizza and says the key is not to oversauce or over cheese. people put a lot of cheese on but it's not the right balance. He is right! We are both pretty picky about pizza and I've never been to Via Napoli but looking forward to trying it!

the menu just says "white pizza" and not sure what the base is. Maybe someone else can answer.

that is awesome news! since as I said above my kid now wants sauce but I still want the melon. He can get what he wants! So excited to try.

I haven't had the Quattro Formaggi there in years (was completely underwhelmed), but I don't remember there being any base...just cheese and crust. I remember that's why I didn't care for it. Just very dry and pretty bland. Maybe it was there, just such a tiny amount that you couldn't see or taste it.

Maybe I just got a dud, though. Not unheard of at VN.

We ate at Naples at Disneyland in late May, and let's just say that VN could take some lessons. Maybe we just got lucky that one time, though.

My wife and I visited a few weeks back and we did just that - half white, half red. You ll have no problem at all. Enjoy!

We have mixed half white and half red on a large pizza so no problem, in fact we do it every time we go. Also when they say large it's not the biggest one, their largest pizza size is the "Mezzo Metro." So a large is still plenty though serves 2 of us easy.

Yes, they will do a half white sauce half red sauce. They let you know ahead of time that the sauce might bleed. If you are okay with that then there is no problem. We did it this past March as we prefer Large pizzas to personal pizzaz. We think the pizza topping are evenly distributed on large ones. Classic pizza size right?

We know it is all in our heads.

They will not do this on anyrhinf smaller than a large. Anything left over makes a great late night snack and or quick breakfast the next morning

We always get half Quattro Formaggi and the other half the spicy sausage. We have never had a problem with them putting 2 different sauces on the same pizza .

@Lisa F @kbmartin Oh yes, quattro fromaggi is definitely white base (NO tomato sauce!). I have this pizza all the time and its delicious and my fave pizza by far. I've seen others get half quattro fromaggi and half tomato based pizza there. So i think you'll be fine. ENJOY! Their pizza is outstanding.

No onions. No veggies. No meat. Its a four cheese pizza (hence the name, quattro fromaggi).
