via napoli .. disappointed

Well...fresh mozzarella is pretty authentic....it would be unusual to see shredded mozzeralla on a pizza in a pizzeria in Italy
If I did not look exactly like my mother I would question my Italian heritage. I eat almost no cheese. Just the fake, processed mozzarella on most pizza.

sorry but there are too many other restuarants we love to give this another try. the first time we thought the pizza was just ok. paid OOP. we wanted to try the other entrees since we were on the "free dining" plan.
I would have mentioned it to the servers, but they were not easy to find. service was not so great.

another issue. I requested a table with a lot of light, since hubby has macular degeneration. very low vision. they tried to seat us as a table in the middle of the dining room with very little light.. I aske about that "patio" area with all the windows. they made a big deal about a "meeting" going on in there. not available yet.
"we'll talk to a manager" they reluctantly brought us out to a table by a window (so myhusband could actually see what he is eating)/ and mad a point of saying this section isn't really open yet.
within 5 minutes there was another table sat. there were a few employees (maybe 4? ) discussing something by a side bar. within 10 minutes they were sittiing people all over the section.
we would have been more than willing to wait 10 minutes for a well lit table, by a window, due to a disability. but they made us feel like we were putting them out. and the service was not friendly AT ALL.

there are too many wonderful restaurants at WDW to waste my money or dining credits here again. (unless I pay out of pocket for the pizza, but I do prefer Chicago [pizza anyway! ;)

When the sections are closed its because they don't have enough servers on yet, during slow times they shut sections down and that way a server only has so many tables to take care of..So yes they were actually being nice when they allowed you to sit in a closed section because a server probably had to go over to that section and take care of you..I have had to do it many times when a guest request a closed section, some times they don't allow it but if the server is willing to travel to take care of the guest they will. I usually will take a table outside my section unless I am just so slammed I would not be able to take care of them properly and I have said no a few times..but I can see where a customer would feel put off and there is absolutely no excuse for them to be rude to you..

We went to Via Napoli while at Epcot and I would go back in a heart beat.

- Family of 4
- Kids are 4 and 6
- 4 and 6 year olds tend to like/eat pizza

We were not on the DDP, so this meal was probably one of the best choices we made. We ordered 1 large pepperoni pizza to share. All 4 of us left satisfied with full bellies. We were able to eat for a decent price. I found the pizza to be really good and you know it's fresh.

There are a lot of different styles of pizza. The crust on this was thinner than your typical take out, but the ingredients were really good. I would go back again in a heart beat next time at Epcot.

i had the same experience with the veal parmesan. It was over-cooked, and rather a small portion compared to what I've received at other restaurants.

The last time I was there, I had the Candele. It was BLISTERING HOT when it arrived, not dry at all. It was so hot that I had to break it open and let it sit to cool down. It might have been so hot and fresh because we ate when the restaurant opened for lunch.

I am a server myself and am very familiar with the concept of a closed section. as I stated, there were a few people standing there talking and within 5-10 minutes about 8 other tables were seated ther. I should also have mentioned we said we were willing to wait for it. same thing happened at BOG the room off to the right is brighter than the center room, but they said it wasn't open yet. "we have to fill this section first" "we'll wait, he needs to see what he is eating" "no you have to site here as long as there is open tables" asked to the manager, and he made a big deal about it being and exception.
again, within 5 minutes, that big center section was full and they were seating others in the brighter section anyway.
