Via Napoli and Signature Restaurants

i was wondering if Via Napoli still refuses to allow sharing credits on the meal plan. We have guests joining us and thought to take them there but I remembered reading a few years ago that they wouldn’t allow you to share your meal credits.

Also, we are considering going to a signature restaurant (Paddlefish) this trip and I had read an old post that said if you purchased a very expensive meal you would have to pay a surcharge in addition to your two table credits. Is this still true?

Correct, VN still does not allow splitting a meal on the dining plan.

There are some meals at a handful of signatures that have surcharges on top of the dining credits. Several of the menu items at Paddlefish have the surcharge...most are $17-22 in addition to the 2 DDP credits there.

While Via Napoli does not allow you to share a meal, we were able to share credits. We used our credits for those that were not on the dining plan. They will also allow you to order OOP for some (a pizza to split, etc) and use the dining plan for others.

There isn’t a lot of talk about Tutto Italia here. My understanding is that the policy is consistent in all of Italy and Mexico.

Paddlefish looks to me like a terrible value on the DDP because of those surcharges and the signature status. The thing that jumped out at me on the menu is $60 with a $17 DDP upcharge. So that brings the plan value down to $43. And the other thing that looked good is $17! Hardly seems worth using two credits on.

I've never seen a report that they do, but I've never seen one talking about sharing successfully either. It just seems to come up more with Via Napoli, since it is a pizza place, than with other restaurants.

I don't know about tutti italia. I have never seen a report that meal sharing on the ddp is not allowed.
