Thoughts on which resort tends to be more crowded? Poly or VGF? Looking into adding more points and I was wanted to wait for the Poly tower, however part of me thinks that it will make Poly much more crowded. Then there's DH who has no interest in ever staying at GFV. Although, he said the same thing about Riviera and we ended up adding there per his choice.

VGF & Poly owner, Here are my thoughts –
We will not know the impact the Poly tower will have until it’s completed. Definitely more people will be using the transportation options that are shared by both Poly & GF (monorail, boats).
The Poly concept art shows a restaurant and possible lounge/bar, all needed to take the stress off restaurants at grand ceremonial house. As you already know the Polynesian‘s main areas are pretty busy, the tower may add to this or help spread the crowd out.🤷‍♀️
Have you ever stayed at VGF? If not, try to take a tour. Poly has my heart, but I also enjoy staying at VGF. Large villas, Beautiful resort, walking path to MK or Poly… if your DH enjoys staying at Riviera, it’s possible he will like VGF

We've never stayed at VGF since he never had the desires. Maybe we will tour in Jan when we come back with our adult kids. I do think he may really like it. I actually told him, no doubt it's a little quieter especially as we get older, and we do more resort stays/downtime.

Since he likes RIV, I suspect he could be fond of GF/VGF, too. Both are elegant, IMO.

The GF lodge rooms (which is what Big Pine Key will have despite their new "resort studios" label) are larger than most other standard resort rooms. The original villas are pretty sizable, too.

The YouTube resort tour by 4K WDW gives a really good overview of the GF grounds if you're not very familiar with them. Bonus is there's no music, only ambient sounds. You feel as though you're actually there, which might win him over to VGF.

The catch if you may be thinking of a stay anytime in the next year is that both VGF1 and BPK are close enough to the Poly Tower site that construction noise could be noticeable.

Because the GF and VGF both are $$$$ and points pricey, it's likely to be less crowded than Poly at all but the busiest times of year. We generally have stayed at one or the other the third week in November and have found either rather peaceful. Haven't stayed but one night then at Poly, way over in Pago Pago, so can't reasonably compare.

The Poly seems to draw lots more families with young kids. The GF generally appears to appeal more to adults in our experience.

Not much help, perhaps, because I'm completely in love with the GF and VGF. No way the Poly is the GF's equal or close to it, IMO. You, however, may really love the place. Crowd-schmowd. If you love the Poly, buy there. True love enables dealing with petty inconveniences like crowds.

I much prefer VGF to Poly. I find the leisure pool pretty relaxing.

I am looking forward though to the tower coming to Poly so that could add that to my list of favorites. I don’t currently like the current way it’s set up for DVC.

The Poly already feels more noisy and crowded, at least around the Lava pool and GCH. GF just has more wide open spacing.

I agree. I originally wanted to add to Poly then thought of the crowd.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will pull it out. Don't get me wrong, we have a little ones as part of our extended family. We like the easy access to MK/Epcot via monorail/walking. We also enjoy our quiet resort and less crowds esp in the pool areas. That's probably why we love Riviera.
