VGF, thoughts on purchase price?

I wouldn't buy a 500 point contract. It's just too hard to sell. I'd rather pay a few hundred bucks difference and get two smaller ones.

And LOL about ROFR. That broker is wow. DVC doesn't ROFR in active sales.
Agree. Those large contracts can be next to impossible to sell, and can sit on the market for months and months. Usually, the only way sellers can unload them is by heavily discounting the per point price, which creates the illusion that they’re a good deal in comparison to other smaller contracts, but they're really not because of the difficulties in resale. No matter how loaded the contract is, $162 pp is just too high for a contract that large. And since DVC is not currently taking any VGF contracts, the broker was basically lying to the OP.
Personally, I would run away from this deal and buy smaller point contracts, which with a little diligence might be obtainable for an even lower cost, and also have loaded points. Or I would back out of the deal and renegotiate for a price in the 140s if the poster insists on this particular contract. In addition, the broker sounds untrustworthy, and that reason alone is enough to pass on the deal.

I hear you and thank you! I don’t know if I could have brought myself to pitch 140’s or if he’d even take it. Gosh that seems awfully low. Too late now. But 500 unused banked points was really hard to pass up. I figure that brought the purchase to around $153-154pp. I know it’s not 140’s. My original intent was to add on to our current contract to give to our children and grandchildren. I’m not planning on selling this one.
