Hello everyone!

My DS (4) is obsessed with the monorail so when we booked our upcoming VGF standard view studio stay I made a room request for "anything that will give us a view of the monorail" I know that room requests are not guaranteed but does anyone think I could better phrase this to hep my chances or is what I requested general enough that I might have a good chance?

TIA!

You could ask for a room across the front of the resort- those will have the most straight on monorail views.

Hello everyone!

Agree that requesting a room looking over the front of the resort is your best bet for full-on monorail views. However, quite a few rooms have at least a partial or long distant view of the monorail. For example, we stayed in a lake view studio in September, and off in the distance--but still easily seen with the naked eye--you could see the monorail. Additionally, of course, we had wonderful water views with lots of boats which your son might also enjoy. Good luck! I think your odds are favorable.

Virtually all standard view villas at VGF offer a glimpse of the monorails. Its just a question of whether some offer better views of the monorails than others. Personally, I'm not overly keen on the idea of requesting a villa at the front of the VGF building. Some have great monorail views, but there are also a couple villas that have major view obstructions due to the roof of the porte cochere. Instead, I'd request a high floor and a villa ending in **05, **11, or **29.

I second disneynutz's suggestion to check out the VGF Villas and Views thread for more information.

I just wrote this in the villas thread linked above....

...the room we were first given was across the hall 1428 but it was a handicap and I reallllly wanted the stand alone shower so I asked nicely if they might be able to move us (I wouldn't normally ask but we were honeymooning from renewing our wedding vows), I loved the view from 1428 though, the monorail was so close you could almost touch it. That would be the best room if you wanted to be close but didn't mind being in the handicapped room without a shower :)
