Does DVC ever release how many contracts or points were sold for a given period of time? I’m genuinely curious how fast the new VGF extension is selling. I know my wife and I add on there at 930 am the day it went on sale because the price shocked us.

It is selling a lot better than the January stats for RIV. They had in one day 500 contracts of 125 points or more. RIV had 446 for an entire month. The real question is how well it will sell no non members. There has been pent up demand for VGF points. Small resort, with not many points and a lot of interest. I’m surprised how good the discounts were.

DVC news gets their numbers from the deeds filed by DVC w/ the OC recorder’s office, there’s a time lag between sales & recording, so the numbers aren’t precise. I don’t think DVC releases the numbers.
How were initial (like first month to members) sales for RIV though? It’s been on sale now for quite a while. The shiny new pent up anticipation is long gone.
It’s hard to compare - when Riv opened 3/27/19, DVC was still selling CCV which did not have the resale restriction that Riv has. The April 2019 numbers - so roughly for the first month of Riv sales - were Riv 407 deeds CCV 1194 deeds.
https://dvcnews.com/dvc-program/financial/news-34867/4467-direct-sales-soar-in-april-2019It’ll be interesting to see March 2022’s numbers & to compare Riv & VGF sales.

Disney hasn’t filed any VGF contracts yet. I’m seeing mostly things from the last week of February in this week’s filings. Disney may take longer than usual to file everything if they’re overwhelmed.

Even if they sold at exactly the same rate from now on, VGF would sell out first. It has less points to sell.

Exactly. It will be interesting to see how they go head to head with people.

As a current owner, adding on and seeing the studio as an option was nice.

As a new buyer? I am not sure I’d pick VGF over RIV unless I knew this is definitely I wanted an MK resort, especially if I wanted the larger rooms.

As others have said, it will be a real test of how resale restrictions impact sales. I know i bought VGF vs RIV for that reason.
Same. We already have Riviera points (our first contract, and didn't know any better, lol). But have since added 2 resale contracts at SSR and CC, and now just bought (2) 100 point VGF2 points. We were planning to go resale again, but jumped in with the good pricing and low MFs.

It could be DLT, rumors have it will be on sale in the near future.

I'm curious what will happen. VGC took quite awhile to sell out considering its size. I don't think S. Cal locals were as interested as DVC thought they would be. I believe they expected it to be snapped up fast as the 1st DL DVC. Of course the economy had started struggling by the time it went on sale too.

My use year is February. Does anyone know if this use year is available with VGF2? Since it’s past February I would get 2022 points right away? Or would they not come until June? What portion of the annual dues would I be responsible for?

Thanks.

Yes, all UY available.
You would get points right away since Feb is in the 2022 period already.
Dues would be prorated from opening date until Dec 31st. They will bill you after opening date.

You get 2022 points. Mine are loaded (March UY). You pay dues from when the resort opens, estimate is June 19. You won’t be charged dues yet.
