Was anyone able to reserve a new resort studio today?

I was told by DVC rep that reservations would open today and 8am EST for stays beginning on 6/20. I still can’t see anything on website and wondering if there is a glitch.

Only going to be available to book by phone until booking opens to all members.

Oh. I called and asked and they said starting at 8am today would be online and could call at 9.

I just tried calling, put in all my info in the prompts, then it said that they are busy and to call back later … and hung up! It didn’t even let me sit on the line on hold and wait.. and I couldnt leave a call back number. I don’t recall this ever happening before, even when it’s been super busy (though I don’t call very often). So I need to just keep trying to call back- what a waste of time. At least if they put me on hold I can just leave the phone nearby on speaker and wait til they pick up.

Got it! Was lucky with the phone and was only on hold about 10 minutes. CM said she was looking at quite a long queue.

Set for first week in Dec in a standard accessible resort studio.

I was so obsessed that I set an atomic clock and dialed in exactly at 8:59:53. I was connected to a CM right away. The whole process from booking my lake view resort studio for November to the member survey took 8 minutes. I could not believe it! I planned to sit on hold for hours (with my director's permission of course).

I hope everyone else trying to reach Member Services today does not have ridiculous hold times!

I was watching the atomic clock time too, but didn't know the 53 seconds trick, I was exactly on the 00. It said it would be a 5 minute wait, has been 30 minutes to far.

Wow, they have Colors of the Wind set to play really, really loud in their hold music. It was causing the speakers on my iPhone to distort.

I was also wondering if anyone who has talked to a CM can confirm the opening date? I know there was an estimated date in the paperwork but curious what the first date available for booking is?

I just figured by the time I hit redial and listened to the opening remarks from the autobot that directs you it would be exactly 9:00. I hope your wait is not too long. I tried to be as quick as possible and get off the line because I knew others were waiting in the queue.

Edited to add the my reservation is booked after 50 minutes and I am so exited!!!

I called a few minutes in advance just in case, the initial autobot reply itself is different between when they are open and when they are closed.

It told me a 2 minute wait. Took 33 minutes to get a CM and 4 minutes for her to book the resort studio wanted.

Hang in there. Shouldn't be too much longer.

Also told me 2 min wait. . . I was on hold for over 40 minutes, but was able to snag a July and August resi in a resort studio.

I kept redialing before 9 and I got through just before 9. I was on hold about a minute and was able to book 2 reservations.

Sept 24-Oct 1 Std Resort Studio
Oct 28 - Nov 2 Std Resort Studio

I was expecting to spend hours on hold today, what a breath of fresh air! Best of luck to everyone today.

Seems to be a theme underestimating wait times... I was told 0 and waited 10 minutes... definitely gotten worse, though.

All done! Total 55 minutes! My friends will experience the new type of studio in January.
