Title says it all..has anyone recently purchased VGC direct? Is there still a waiting list to buy direct and if so, how long did it take for you get a contract?

We added on twice toward the end of last year - two smaller contracts direct from Disney.

We had been ROFR's twice and finally just gave up. Between there not being that many contracts, needing a specific UY to match our existing one, and the ability to use those points for the DLH or even PP if the VGC is not available (and given it's small size that's always a consideration), we just decided to do direct.

At the time there was a waiting list, at least for our UY, and it was growing pretty fast. Since then I think Disney has been ROFRing quite a few VCG contracts, so that situation might have changed since then.

Good luck to you.

We got on the waiting list 3 months ago. The guide took a credit card number ( maybe to see if we were serious?). Haven't heard a word yet.

If it was like with mine, the reason for the credit card was so when your points become available, they will magically appear in your account because they will just charge them to your card.

On our second add on, we only told our guide the RANGE of points we wanted. We talked about it; I emailed him about it.

One Sunday I called MS about something and the CM said, Oh, I see you have more points than you think.

Turns out my points came in (probably from the very same contract I had ROFR'd that week) and the guide had just used our card to buy the upper range of what we had discussed. Didn't bother to call to tell me they were available or that they were even in my account.

I called his boss and mentioned it, and found out something interesting. Turns out if you are waiting for say, 100 points and they come in, and even when the contract is mailed to you, if you want to change to 75 or 125 or something different from the 100, you can, and they will redo the contract. Of course, if you want more points than originally, you might have to wait again.
