VGC available at seven months?

I was able to get a studio there 2 months out.

Is there a way I can increse my chance to get a studio 7 months out? For the up coming big event in summer 2011 which I-shall-not-name I want to go so bad but I am sure lots of DVCer will have the same idea. What to do? what to do?

I think ressies there will be harder to get once the resort is sold out. For the event, yup...I'd think you might have a problem with availability. We purchased a 100 point add-on while onboard the Disney Magic this past August but only intend to use our points there every 3 years. I know several other east-coasters who did the same thing, so those of us who aren't booking there often= more availability for other members..---Kathy

Oh THAT one?? LOL here is a tip...we found last year that staying closer to the eh..location of the big event...was a better idea. We went to the park exactly one time and found that we wished we stayed at..the big event..when we heard what we missed at night. So...staying at the Grand is great, but for..the big event..not important.

Sorry SonicGuy, there are not enough room in VGC for everyone as it is. I don't want to put the idea in more people's head.

I have never stayed in Disneyland's hotels before, that's why i come up with the 2 birds in 1 stone idea.
The point requirement is so high for the Grand on the weekend, and if you think it is not convience, may be i should plan to stay somewhere else.

I would not waste the points for that type of stay. The Marriot(at least I think it's a Marriot) is RIGHT THERE and believe me, you may not make it to the parks at all. It is pretty close, only about a 15-20 minute walk, but really, much easier to stay by the event and not in the parks. It is on the ART route also, so if you can figure that out you can get back and forth pretty easily. I'll stay THERE instead of at the parks and I'm a VGC owner. It looks like it's only 3 days instead of 4 next year, so even less 'free' time I bet. It was fabulous..

I'm sorry - not sure if you are serious about not wanting people to know what is going on but it was driving me crazy. I finally found that the D23 expo is at the anaheim convention center summer 2011. Don't even know what D23 is so not sure how big a deal it is. Hope this helps all the "dying to know" people.

Oh sure no problem andersonsc, it is just that The first-ever DXX EXXX last year attracted just nearly 40,000 Disney fans without much advance planning, and now they are advertising the next one full 1.5 years ahead, I am sure it wouldn't be a big deal getting a reservation on property for all of the DVCers who wants to go right? After all, we have whopping 48 villas to choice from!

We stayed last year at a timeshare closer to the convention center and were glad we did. We'll hope to do the same for 2011. Seriously, stay closer to the convention center -- you'll be happier for it.
