Hello Everyone,

I would first like to say thank you!
Thank you for existing to help answer my questions.
I don't think I would have looked at DVC so seriously if this board was not available.
So thank you very much!

I am looking at DVC for VGC resale.

My wife is hesitant to buy mainly due to horror stories with availability.
We are looking to go early june for 5 days every year in a one bedroom.
(She doesn't want anything to get in the way of our Disney vacation.)

She wants to hear from VGC vets on the actual availability of the rooms during this time frame.
Both with and without the 11 month window.

Is it really that bad? Will it get better when the new DVC tower is built?

Thank you
Rodriguez Fam

I know it’s not an easy resort at 7 months. Since I don’t own there I can’t add for those that do.

Booking a 1BR at 11 months will not be an issue. Only mild complicating dates are d23, and if run Disney ever returns to DL.

I’m not sure if you want VGC it VGF but I have both. Studios go quickly at both. 1 bedrooms you are safe to book through out most of the owner window except for New Years. I just booked a studio for a week next June with no problem.
I got tired of getting locked out of VGC at the 7 month window as of a couple years ago and finally just bought there. VGF is consistently easy to book any time i have tried. VGC you almost must own, VGF- you could get away with another home resort as long as you are fine to pay for a 1bed Lake View.

Thank you for that info...
I agree. You need to own there to book there.

I have yet to read of an owner unable to book VGC at 11 months. The problem is at 7 months. If you buy VGC and pay the premium, you should be fine except for a handful of days that require to book sooner than later during the home resort booking period.

I am a VGC owner, and have had 1 time I had a problem at 11 months. It was for a Moonlight Magic and I logged in about an hour after I should have (totally forgot). But I ended up getting it via waitlist about 3 months out. That was for a studio. It is the only time at the 11 month mark that I have ever had a problem. I book for Disneyland's anniversary every year in July and have no issues getting it for a studio. I am sure a 1 bedroom in early June should not be too much of an issue to get at 7-11 months out. Definitely buy there if that is where you plan to stay the majority of the time!

This is good to know because we are in the middle of purchasing VGC right now.
