VGC & Aulani - Unable to Book

Has anyone else had issues with being unable to modify a WDW reservation to either Aulani or VGC? I am not actually trying to book there, but while modifying an existing reservation that is well within 7 months, I noticed that both those properties are greyed out. If I try to book a new vacation for the same dates; then all properties are available. VGC is also showing in my home resort section; but that is due to the existing reservation using one time use points. I'm just thinking down the line, I could see myself booking a WDW vacation at my Florida home resort; and then trying to modify it to VGC @ 7 months if availability is there. but this would prevent that from occurring; and with Disney IT, I'm wondering if it is an issue that won't be fixed on its own.

I just made a trial reservation for Jan of 22 at Aulani (inside 7 months) with current UY points (DEC 2021). I then tried to modify the reservation. Only Aulani came up choice for the modified room. I was able to modify it and then cancel it, so all points are back in the original UY and the rooms are available. So it looks like you can't modify from east coast to west coast or even between the west coast resorts.

Maybe it’s based off location? Has anyone tried to modify a Hilton Head reservation and try to go to a WDW location?

I booked an Aulani reservation for this upcoming June (11 month window) and edited the reservation without any problems.
