Planning our itinerary for a family trip of 14 people, staying off-site, Saturday November 9 - 16.

How busy is Veteran's Day usually? I am thinking we want to visit MK that day. It is a party day at closes early. Touring Plans has it listed at only crowd level of 5.

Is it insanely busy? I have been during Spring Break (never again) but this will be first time visit for a couple in our group including a 5 year princess obsessed little girl.

Just to be clear, we will definitely be heading back to MK during our stay, so we can split up the park into multiple trips.

In my experience that Sunday the 10th will be crazy busy but less so on that Monday the 11th. Have fun!

How busy Veterans day will be is hard to judge from past experience. This year it might be busier than other years because it falls on a Monday. Around the country, not a lot of schools/work get Veterans Day off so its not a major impact.

we were in MK on Veteran's Day in 2014 (I know a long time ago) it was crazy busy and hours were extended while we were in the park due to the crowds. I learned on that trip (our first) not to do MK on a holiday when locals also have that day off

I was there last year- the Sunday and holiday Monday were very busy. Crowds were gone on Tuesday!

Thanks everyone.

Glad to hear the rest of the week the majority of the crowds thinned our. Hoping the same!

The majority of the group only have 4 day park hoppers, want to do Universal one day and maybe a beach day with both Saturdays being travel days. So we are going to need to go to a park on Monday.

Just trying to figure out when to go to which park 😨

We are in the same boat. We were there 11/11 the last 2 years, when the legal holiday made it a 3 day weekend. It was super busy. I think MK is a good choice because it is a party night. Crowds should ease for the rest of the week (hopefully)

We will also be there Nov 9-17 and I have our first MK day planned for 11/10. I purposely avoided MK on 11/11 in hopes to ditch the crowds, but Im sure we will still find them over in AK that day. Hoping that the rest of the week turns out to be less busy, but due to SWGE, it will be a toss up!

These two things together have me concerned and a little conflicted. Daytime hours before a party night at MK are some of the least crowded MK gets these days. People don't want to leave early, so avoid the park. Normally I would suggest you WANT to do an MK day on a party night.

However, if this is the ONLY day some of your party will be visiting MK, then that means they will not get to experience HEA or MK at night unless you're planning to hop over to MK on an evening when there isn't a party.

So my question back to you is do you have plans to hop to MK for HEA on one of the other 4 days? If you do, then I'd definitely leave your plans at MK on the 11th even though it is a "holiday." But you'll need to plan a hop for that evening to fill out the day.

Yes we will be heading to MK another day during a non-party day. The main issue is everyone arrives Saturday (most are driving). Sunday we have the Bin Voyage character breakfast at Boardwalk. Epcot would make most sense that day since we are right there but with F&W will be a madhouse. So not sure what we are doing that day.

The little 5 yo is going to be so excited to go to MK we don’t want to push it off too far in the trip and figured we will make multiple visits there with hoppers.

Sunday’s and Monday’s are typically the busiest days for the MK as those days are often the beginning of a trip and people like to start their vacations off at MK.

You can find several princesses at Epcot too!

I was there last year for Jersey week and left on 11/11. It was also Veterans Day weekend when I left and the last weekend of F&W. Epcot was a nightmare. I was in Epcot on 11/10 (Saturday) from 11am-2pm and it is the only time I’m ever felt so uncomfortable in the crowds that I was nervous and anxious. It was absolutely insane by 1 pm! We could barely walk. We ran out of there quickly. We stayed at BWV and wouldn’t even go into Epcot while we waited for DME on Sunday and we had a few hours to kill. We just hung out on the boardwalk instead. We were that traumatized.

So avoid Epcot until Tuesday.

I was afraid of that! Thank you for the warning!

Even though we will be right there I think hopping over to Animal Kingdom will be our best bet for that Sunday, even if we won't get there until 1-2 pm. The portion of our party that isn't going to the breakfast can head over there earlier and we can meet them there.
