Veteran's Day weekend reservation suggestions?

Hello,

I am taking my son, age 14, for a long weekend/birthday trip to Disneyland over Veteran's Day weekend. We arrive SNA Friday morning at 9am (flying all night to get there) and plan on hitting the parks when we arrive. I bought 4 day tickets (not hopper). We depart SNA Tuesday afternoon at 3pm. So, our park days will be Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon. I have never been to Disney over a holiday weekend and am already anticipating bigger crowds than I am used to.
What would you suggest we do for park reservations over the 4 days (which park on which day)?

Thanks for any suggestions. My son hasn't been to Disney since he was about 6 and this is our first mom/son trip. I think I am more excited than he is! :)

That weekend is Dapper Day as well. The event is at Disneyland Park on Sunday 11/14. If you are interested in seeing folks dressed up, you should probably reserve Disneyland park for that day. If not, maybe reserve DCA.

if there is any way you can swing a park hopper, it’s well worth it at DLR. the parks are just a couple of minutes walk, facing each other, and it’s easy to go back and forth. That will give you more opportunities to ride Webslingers and RoTR.

Oh, wow, that weekend will be busy with Veteran's Day, Dapper Day, and the beginning of the Christmas season. I recommend Disneyland on Friday, DCA on Saturday, & Disneyland on Sunday.

Have a great time!

Wondering what everyone thinks about Thursday 11/11? My son has that day off (but has school Friday).

How fun!

I feel like it’s always best/most fun to start at Disneyland, so normally I’d say DL Friday for sure, but also Disneyland will probably be more of a zoo than DCA due to the Christmas parade and fireworks… but that might be true all weekend.

I think that I’m going to be there that day. I am crossing everything for an ACF soft-open!

This might be a silly question but...how do you know there is a Christmas Parade and Fireworks on Friday? The hours/schedule aren't posted for November yet, right?

Because November 12 is the official start of Christmas, and they’ve confirmed ACF and the Christmas fireworks are happening - so they for sure will be on that day. But no, the times have not been published yet.

11/11 is the first Merriest party date. Doesn't seem likely that they would run the parade before the party, given that they are asking folks to pay $175 for the party that night.

Why not? I mean it’s not exclusive to the party. Not sure how running it earlier in the day would affect the guests’ parade viewing at the party. And maybe they would like to give it a run through before they have to do it in front of all the bloggers 😆

What is ACF? new acronym for me :)

They soft-opened Jungle Cruise for a whole week before charging a ton for the special before-park-opening event on its “official” re-opening day. 🤷‍♀️

A Christmas Fantasy - the holiday parade

I guess i’m just pessimistic about Disney parks in general right now. Yes, I know ACF isn’t exclusive, so maybe they actually will pull out some pixie dust.

Eh, it’s not pixie dust, it’s a dress rehearsal.

I’m not particularly expecting a soft open, especially since I think it’s almost entirely returning cast. But I’m hoping for one. 😉
