We are planning an upcoming trip with 2 days in the parks. Our options are Sunday Nov 2 and Monday Nov 3 or Monday Nov 10 and Tuesday Nov 11 (Veterans Day).

I know the first will be far less crowded, however, we have never been to DLR at Christmastime and it looks like the Christmas parade and Holiday fireworks will be going on the second dates. Wondering it the trade off is worth it? Anyone ever gone Veterans Day? The kids say they will take more crowds if they can see the Christmas stuff, but this will be our only trip for the next couple of years or so, so we want it to be a good one.

This is just a guess- One way of judging crowds is to look at the AP blackout calendar. With only the SoCal select blackout, my best guess is that the park will be slightly more crowded than a regular week day but not overly so. Also, with both parks closing at 9 that day that further my belief that the crowds should not be unbearable.

I'm planning on going on Veterans day too. I noticed on touring plans it's a 4 out of 10. Possibly because Veterans day is on a Tuesday.

According to Disneyland's website the hours are 9-11 for DL and 9-8 for DCA.

I would opt for the non veterans day. We had a visit over Veterans day and Veterans day itself was extremely crowded....

I took my kids last year on Veterans Day, and it wasnt that crowded. Not everyone gets that day off of work, and other passes are blocked out......so I think it is worth the try.

It's going to be somewhat crowded for any extended holiday weekend, but because Veterans Day is on a Tuesday this year it might not be as bad (a lot of folks have to go to work on Wednesday and can't stay late).

The holiday season at DLR doesn't officially begin until 11/13 (and some things won't begin until that date), but there will already be quite a few things beginning on 11/7, and that will attract some folks. See this post for dates of what is happening, and when it's happening.

If your kids really want to see Christmas decorations and some of the entertainment -- and they'd probably love It's a Small World Holiday -- I think it's worth it to go over Veterans Day.
