I just checked my email account (my personal one, not my work one). It said I had one new message, so I went to my Inbox. The sender was blank, the subject line was blank, and the message was blank.

How can someone send me an email and have the sender be blank? Is that even possible? It seemed very weird to me.

I hit "reply", thinking maybe the sender's address would pop up in the "To" spot on the reply, but there was nothing.

:confused:

I have been getting MANY emails from "unknown sender" and they are totally blank....I just delete them......I don't know what the deal is....and I even have Norton scanning my email...

I would be careful. That sounds like something that would house a virus.

That's strange! My first thought was maybe it's a virus of some kind. Maybe it was deleted if you have antivirus software on your computer. That would be why there was nothing there. Just a thought.

I thought about the virus thing, but there was literally nothing in the email. No attachments, no text, no nothing. Can a virus be transmitted that way?

there was nothing in mine either.....I was thinking if you "replied" to it that it would start a virus or something...that is why I just automatically delete them

Do you have comcast by chance?? I was going to contact them and see whats up.

No, I have a yahoo account. I only use it for my friends (I have another one for everything else). The only spam I get is from yahoo itself generally.

I get 'em occasionally, and just delete 'em.

Actually, there could be something there in the email that would be malicious. Sometimes spammers, (or virus writers) can put in a hyperlink that is just one pixel in size, so you can't even see it.

If you have HTML (pictures) turned on, by opening the email, it tries to activate the HTML, and can do bad things; for example, it will tell the spammer that your email address is active, so you go onto their confirmed list.

That's probably the least malicious one, they can do some pretty bad stuff if you open email, and have HTML turned on, and are not using a good virus/firewall suite.

I get a LOT of these around the times when there are new batches of viruses going around.......

which is to say that in the last 5 or so days I've been innundated with those same types of emails.

I'm also getting slammed with the ones that are approximatly 26K and they look like they're coming from a "friend" with "hello" "HI!!" or "What's new?" in the subject line.

Delete delete delete.......... ::yes::
