Very upset with Fantasmic Dining Package

I won't go to Fantasmic! without the package only because I refuse to spend that much time standing in line/sitting around. It's a great deal for the food (it's easy to spend more than the package costs, especially at the Brown Derby), it's all one pre-paid price, and I don't have to worry about getting in line. At 8PM when everyone is already sitting in there, I'm taking a last trip or 3 on ToT or RnR.

For me, it's my big "splurge" of the trip, and I'm always satisfied with it.

I too can't understand why people think they have to be in the center section for a good view.

From what I read about the Candlelight Processional dinner pkg, you DO get the best seats. Maybe that's what confuses some. I'm new to this Fantasmic dinner pkg, so I just assumed it was the same as CP-- til I came across this thread. But I'll be perfectly fine with sitting in the right section versus waiting a long time for the best seats in the center section.... esp with DD5 and DS2.

We never get the package because we always get there one hour before showtime and get front and center seats. I imagine the package might be good if it were busy season but we go in October and have never had a problem getting the seats we want. Now that my mom can't do steps we get the very top row, which is reserved for the handicapped, which gives a perfect view for us.

We got hte Fantasmic Dining Package and ate at Mama Melrose's. The food was really good but it filled us up quick and I couldn't even finish my main dish. :guilty: It was really good too. But thats not why I'm posting. After dinner we got a ticket that said we could enter through a special entrance to Fantasmic, by the time we got to the show almost all the seats were filled! There were no reserved seats for the people who had bought the dinner package. I'm not sure what happened maybe they filled up all the space they had or something but we got terrible seats all the way over on the right side. they were in the front but we couldn't see anything :sad2: People that hadn't bought the package got seats like front row center. I thought when you boutght the dinner package you were supposed to get reserved seats for Fantasmic. But that is not how it happened. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, can you please tell me why this happened??

You did get reserved seats for Fantasmic -the are on the right hand side!

Actually I think you misunderstood the FDP, the package guarantees you a seat if you arrive at least 15-30 minutes before the show - not the best seat. The best seats are taken by those willing to arrive 1 1/2 to 2 hours before the show. This is the benefit of the FDP, not the best seats but still IMHO good, but less time in the stadium.

The FDP reserved seats are the ones on the right side of the stadium and were reserved for you. If they weren't, then all the seats would have been filled by the time you arrived.

Next time consider wheather arriving 1-2 hours before the show, depending on the season, is worth not doing the package. For me with two small kids who need to eat anyway the package makes sense. If you want prime seats and your kids are older and more patient arriving earlier makes more sense.

Sorry you were dissapointed.

::MickeyMo One time, DBF and I waited over two hours to get into the "Sorcerer Mickey" section, dead center. After that, we've been doing the Fantasmic package. Honestly, we think we see just as well from the seats on the right. We've always seen everything well, too. We'll never stand in line for 2 hours again. Sitting on those hard benches isn't comfy either. ::MinnieMo

We've never done the package. We always arrive about 30 minutes beforehand and always get a seat in the center. I guess we lucked out.

Same here!!!! I've NEVER had to stand in "line" to get into Fantasmic - that must be a summer or Easter/Christmas thing. I walk right into the theatre about 45-60 minutes before the show and get a front and center seat ALWAYS. There's no waiting or standing in line......

I still don't understand the attraction of FDP. Someone mentioned how they always do the package because they don't want to wait an hour and a half because they could be riding rides during that time.... but aren't you in a full-service restaurant for an hour and a half, maybe two hours??? Either way, you are not riding rides - you're either sitting in a restaurant eating or sitting in your front & center seats eating........

Well, that's true, though the FDP also promises the allure of exclusivity. I don't personally see the value, but I can see how some folks could relish the idea of strolling in just 45 minutes before the show and having a guaranteed seat, while other folks (like my family and I) have had to camp-out for at least twice that long in order to secure a seat for the show.
