Very Upset! Stabbing at DD's College!

I got up this morning as was going about my normal morning routine, I put the coffe pot on, took Jamie outside, turned on the tv with the morning news. turned on my computer, etc. Just going about my normal morning, as I was walking into my computer room with my cup of coffee. On the tv was being reported about a stabbing overnight at a College. When they showed my DD's college and said it was her college, I just about droped my coffee! I could not believe what I had just saw and heard! I called DD right away, no answer, I then called the college and spoke with Public Safety! I told them who I was and what I just heard on the news, etc. and that I had a DD who goes to school there! They where very nice, but could not give me to much info, etc. All they could tell me was that is was a male who had been stabbed.

My dd finally called me this morning, she is very vey upset. Turns out the kid who did the stabbing, lives in the house as DD, right upstairs. He is an Honor student, which I know because he lives in the Honor's house with my DD. DD said Mom he was the nicest guy, etc, very quite, etc, would never hurt anyone. She is in total disbelief that this all happened. And it happened right there in her house while she was there! The place is flooded with police, news reporter's etc. The person who got stabbed is very bad according to DD. DD will be leaving to come home for the rest of the day, one of her friends his driving her home! She told me the police where there now doing a search of the one suspect's room, they had to get a warrant! I just don't understand what is going wrong in our world. DD was interviewed by the police, etc. I hope she will be fine and this will not have any kind of effect on her. Please keep my Lauren in your prayer's and the other kids who had to witness such a horrible thing.

for you and your daughter. That is scary. If you can, look on the plus side, they know who did it and the guy isn't wandering around anymore. Hopefully they can bring in some counselling or something for everyone affected.

Prayers out for the kid who was stabbed, I can't imagine what his loved ones are going through.

And also prayers out to your DD and all of the students at the college, they must have been terrified. And to you too, I can imagine how scared you were!

That is so terrible. Thankfully it wasn't your daughter, but it was someone's son. Prayers that he will recover. Sending our children off to college to live is a scary thing indeed. Thankfully my daughter hasn't been a victim of or witness to anything like this, but this kind of stuff goes on at every school. Do you know that many schools try and downplay violent crimes so as to not scare off potential parents/incoming students? I think they should all be held accountable and all crimes investigated by the real police and not the campus police.
