very tough decision

first the background I booked the Northern european cities for June of next year although even at this early time theres basically only guarantee rooms left at least were we like to be
also I was able to transfer my RC booking to go with the agent we always book DCL with and able to also get the OBC from DU

but just recently I noticed that theres another cruise but the dates are aug into sept of next year with a few rooms to pick from that would work out for us

so I contacted the agent thinking I could just transfer the deposit to the new date but since I booked a non refundable deposit I couldnt just change
I would basically cancel the first and start over with the new date

the reason I didnt do the refundable deposit is after paying the extra for refundable I would really only (only not being the best choice of words)
since the deposit is 500 for refundable it would be 750 so Id be paying 250 more so getting the 250 back
sorry for the ramble
anyways not sure where to go with this

sure I could cancel the first and start over I would be getting more OBC from DU since I would get the full amount and not half from now that I transfer
and lose the 500 from the booking I have now or just keeping my guranatee in hopes of cancellations durning the next year
any thoughts

My opinion is you need to do the pros/cons of switching.

Cons:
Lose $500 deposit

Pros:
Get to pick the room
????

Personally, picking the room is NOT worth $500 (PLUS the increased cost of picking the room). But only you can decide.
