Last time I checked Sara Palin wasn't running for POTUS. Once again McCain just thinks this should be an issue that each state can deal with independently. Finally it's not the babies fault. There are thousands of couples both gay and straight that want nothing more than to have a child but are unable to, those people want to love and care for all the throw away babies!

I'm not Pro-Abortion I am Pro-CHOICE. I have never had one and would not have one unless my health was at risk. I haven't seen a video of an abortion nor do I want to. And no I am not a member of PETA.

Yes, she is. The Vice President must be able to step in and take over as President, should something happen to the President. John McCain is so old that, even ignoring his history of cancer, and even ignoring the damage inflicted on him as a POW, there is a 30% chance that if he is elected he'll die in office, and Sarah Palin would therefore become President.

However, even putting that aside, McCain's selection of Palin is tacit acknowledgement that he is ratifying her extreme position, and will likely reflect that immoral perspective, himself, in his own choics and decisions. He was kowtowed to the religious right, and there is no reason to think he won't do their bidding, such as in the selection of Supreme Court Justices. He cannot be trusted to secure reproductive choice, which was the whole point of the videos we're talking about here.

Once again McCain just thinks this should be an issue that each state can deal with independently.

And this girl, and this woman, says it should be an issue that only the woman deals with independently. That's the whole issue. McCain is wrong; these women are correct. It's that simple.

Finally it's not the babies fault.

There is no fault. Fault is a red herring.

There are thousands of couples both gay and straight that want nothing more than to have a child but are unable to, those people want to love and care for all the throw away babies!

There are about 130,000 children already waiting to be adopted. Let's get them adopted first, then we can worry about adding more to the system.

However, in the mean time, why don't you work (1) to pass laws allowing gay couples able to adopt, nationwide, and (2) to reduce unwanted pregnancy, so there is no need for anyone to have an abortion? Both of those things would be far more productive uses of time and energy than either side in this 50%/50% dispute actually getting their way.

I have never had an abortion - but if pregnant tomorrow I would.

I have witnessed abortions - volunteer for PP.

Videos - sure but those are icky. All surgeries are icky. And when you blow up something that is the size of an olive into something 100 times its size it looks worse. Childbirth videos are gross too. Facelift surgery -ack.

Not pro-abortion, just keep the government out of my uterus, my bedroom and whatever relationship I have with a higher power.

I am a former pro-lifer. I'm now pro-choice. I have not had an abortion, nor have I witnessed one. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant; this is my first pregnancy. I have seen the pics of the "aftermath" of abortions. I was once a member of PETA when I first went vegetarian (whatever that has to do with anything). Their recipes suck.

I don't think you realize that adoption isn't the answer to preventing abortions. Adoption is already available, but unfortunately many couples are not willing to adopt many of the children out there (not that I blame them). They aren't all healthy and white, in other words. So if a woman find she's pregnant and would have a baby who isn't white or has a disability of some kind, she'll have a tough time finding adoptive parents. I worked in an adoption agency; I know. We were turning away black birth mothers.
