Very odd question: panhandling in DCA?

Lol. Correct, I wasn't making fun of the homeless. Many panhandlers are not homeless. It's a combination of:

1) Like bbeagle said, paying alot to get in and then panhandling.
2) Panhandling in Disney's idealistic portrayal of old Hollywood. Have you seen the real Hollywood?
3) I'm sitting on the sidewalk with a beer, so part of me just felt like a bum.

Back to my initial question, judegements aside, would Disney security actually eject me from the park?

Everyone that already answered "no" did answer your initial question. They would likely first just ask you to stop but if you persisted (or if they were feeling particularly strict) they could ask you to leave. The first reason is that you'd be panhandling on private property. The second is that you'd be "making money" on Disney property without the approval of Disneyland.

Ok, since you've clarified, now I think it's even less funny to imply that bums sit on the curb drinking and begging for money.

And for the record, about 6 months ago I started helping my friend with a project involving homeles people in Hollywood. Many of them could budget a $100 day in Disneyland if they plan long enough. They have various reasons why they can't secure housing and steady jobs that pay enough to sustain a household. In cases where the reasons include mental illness, it is most definitely not funny. But I have yet to encounter alcoholism.

The dictionary.com definition of bum is "a person who avoids work and sponges on others; loafer; idler." That's what I felt like. Bums and the homeless are separate things.

This is the correct answer. They would ask you to cease and desist. If you failed, they would escort you out and have Anaheim PD trepass you.

Ummm... Alcoholism is a very big factor for some who are homeless. Just to keep things factual.

If you couldn't accept that some people wouldn't like your "joke", maybe you shouldn't have brought it up on a public message board.

I'm sure here are alcoholics who are homeless. To go back to what the OP said, he felt like a bum because he was sitting on a curb drinking, and thought it would be a good joke to beg for money. I'm sorry to turn it into a discussion on the homeless. However, and I know this leans to more OT, but let's not say something is "factual" without an actual reference. Otherwise, it's just a stereotype. Much like implying the bums all drink and beg for money.

Tell my kids that.

"Can I have a churro? Can I have a smoothie? Can you carry me?"

Seriously! My niece is always hitting me up for cash while we're there. I think I need to enlighten her on Disney's policy. ;)

Hmm... next time I go to DLR I may just have to make a cardboard sign to wear around my neck that says "Will work for Dole Whips".

I never carry cash, let alone spare change. I use debit cards exclusively. When I'm asked if I have any change on me, the honest truth is "no".

Very good point. I should carry Square when panhandling. Now you won't have any excuses.

I always donate to any of those causes that round up your bill or tack on a dollar at the check-out. If it's easy for me, I'll give. I once tried to give a homeless person a $5 Starbucks card (he was at a red light and it was in my car), and he wouldn't take it...

the cast members can be very strict.. especially if you're sitting with the beer and asking for money lol. i personally wouldn't risk that.
