Hi everyone! I've spent some time reading posts, but I am very, very new and feel like an idiot! :badpc:

I am a Disney Nut, always have been. I worked for Disney for many years at the Disney Store, the closest this Iowa girl will ever get working for the mouse (and that's really no more, is it?). You had to just LOVE  those CM discounts when going to WDW. I also liked going behind the scenes and Company D! Well, it's been quite a few years since I've worked at the Disney Store (6 years ago) and it's been that long since I've been to WDW. I feel like a Disney Virgin  because so much has changed!

Now I am freaking out and could use anyones, everyones help! My husband and I just got married in October and decided to go to WDW for our honeymoon (of course) PLUS we're taking our two small children, ok funny honeymoon, but we weren't really a traditional family either, are we? :rotfl:
We arrive on Feb. 1 and are there for a good week, maybe more depending on the crowds. I have bought the new books, read these boards (some of it, there is a lot) and I am trying to plan. I need help!!!! My kids are 2 (almost 3) and 4 (almost 5). We have to be sort of laid back for them, going with the flow but I need to plan some things. We do have a table at CRT for lunch on my 40th bday (2/4). And we are going to Hoop Dee Doo. Otherwise :confused3 I want the kids to see the parades and fireworks, where are the best places to see those with toddlers? I don't want to miss Fantasmic, saw it in '99 and loved it. But an hour wait with two little ones before the show??? We also want to get a sitter for a few hours one day so my husband and I can go hit the rides they can't. I know we can do the baby swap, but it's better with your honey sitting with you. Anyone want to help me plan?? Cinderella is my daughter's absolute favorite and Nemo and Buzz is my son's. I know Buzz is shut down, too bad for us

Thanks in advance for ANY help (seriously) and I already love this board. Now I'm off to the t shirt section and see if those ladies can help me....love their designs and really want some t shirts for our stay.

Kim

Welcome to the Boards! Happy New Year...your trip will be here before you know it....based on what your telling me you do have some ressies...Best place for fireworks is always by the castle....but since you can pretty much see it from all over...its really open. I'll tell you there's an ice cream store right on main not far from the castle...if you play it right....with timing....you can sit...have ice cream and watch it....

Parades are good too....get a spot on the curb...avoid the circle by the castle as its usually too crowded....

Take your little ones to the disney playhouse....they will really enjoy it... its interactive and my grandchildren 1 - 3 and 8 years loved it.....the only downside is you have to sit on the floor.

About babysitters, call way ahead if you plan for this as there doesn't seen to be enough to go around....
