Whenever I get nervous about something, my stomach seems to take the brunt of it!! :guilty: Today, it's in over-drive.

DH's check up with the new radiation oncologist is this afternoon. The doctor who took care of him during his treatment has since moved to the Virgin Islands to head a cancer center there (their first). He has seen the doctor a few times since his treatment ended, but for some reason, I am REALLY rattled by this one!! :scratchin There is no reason for me to suspect anything's wrong and that he won't get a clear report.....but still............ I'll be happy when this day is over!!

Anyone else have an extremely sensitive tummy?

I hope everything is good with your dh. I also have a sensitive or "emotional" tummy. It didn't matter the emotion that I'm expericing I would umm throw up  It's gotten better as I've gotten older but a few examples:

The first time my dh (then bf) told me he loved me.
The first time I told him.
My wedding day.
Before every single sports game I played until I graduated college.
When I got into a fight well afterward because I was still so mad.

You get the picture. I understand the sensitive tummy thing. Again best wishes to your family.

Yeah..............been there...............done that!!

:wizard: Hoping all goes well today for your DH! Let us know how he makes out. I also hope you feel a little better, I know it must be so hard on you. :grouphug:

I've been trying to keep busy today so my mind doesn't start to wander...I've managed to do the laundry, the dishes, run the vacuum, clean the upholstery, dust the living room.........volunteerarily CLEAN the kids' bedrooms.... :scared1: 4:00 can't come soon enough!! :rolleyes1

Good Luck to you and your DH. Keep busy, time seems to always go faster when I stay busy!!

You both are in my thoughts and prayers, Colleen. And, yes, I have a sensitive tummy also ;)

I know how it is. My Dsister just had her check up after all her chemo and radiation for breast cancer. Hers turned out well--I'm praying your DH's will, too.

As for the nervous tummy...I worry so much I should buy stock in TUMS!

I get like that! My DD 8 had minor surgery this morning and I was up at 3 am in the bathroom. I couldn't even eat so when my DD was in recovery I started to get sick because of the low blood sugar. Anyway, I feel much better now, but when ever I am nervous my stomach seems to take the "brunt."

Good luck this afternoon.

Lynne

always quiet ~ I know exactly how you feel with the "nervous tummy"... got one myself as a matter of fact...

My DH's radiation was cancelled all this week due to a really bad burn under his arm (they prescribed a ointment that is often used with radiation burns and also gave him a burn cream) hopefully he can resume on Monday. He is having his chest, left axilla and clavical radiated. We are very anxious - after six months of chemo... to finish radiation and see what the CAT and PET scans look like.

Anyway ~ from someone who knows the anticipation of what you are going through... hang in there. You are in my thoughts... :flower3:

Good luck to your hubby and hoping all news is good! {{hugs}} for you. :)

good luck to your DH. I absolutely know what it's like having a sensitive stomach. My stomach (pains & nausea) let me know when it's time to de-stress & take a time out. Most of the time I listen. When I don't - I end up on some kind of medication to control the pain.

Don't forget to take care of yourself!!!

 to you and your family

Yes, I have a very emotional nervous tummy...

Did they prescribe Biafine? DH had the IMRT on his neck and tonsils. The burn on his neck was so bad that it actually formed a nasty looking scab. He missed a few treatments because of it...didn't happen til almost the end of treatment. The radiation burn left a pink scar on his neck.....the incision from the lymph node removal (inc. the juglar vein the tumor had attached itself to), which ran from his ear lobe to his collar bone didn't leave one mark. Just shows you how bad those radiation burns can actually be. Will they need to do both the catscan and the petscan at the end? DH had a petscan done 3 months after treatment ended....everything came back clean! Sending prayers and pixie dust your way for a happy ending!! :grouphug:

I'm so glad everything came back clean!!! :cheer2: That must have been a wonderful feeling.... and I'm sure it will continue!

Yes, I believe it is Biafine... it's in a white and light blue tube and looks alot like vaseline... yuck! Anyway, that's what they gave him for his chest, back and throat - which is what I would describe as a dry burn. However, the burn under his arm is completely raw - they gave him a RX for silvadine for that.
His oncologist is going to order a catscan when radiation is finished to get a immediate look at his chest cavity which was a big area of concern. 6 weeks later they will do a petscan to look at his chest, abdomen and pelvis. They told us that it's best to wait at least 6 weeks after radiation to get accurate results from a petscan.

Thank you for the prayers and pixie dust... right back at ya!!! :grouphug:
Please keep me posted... It's very nice to hear the happy endings... and yes, we hope to have one too. :flower:

YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :jumping1: :thewave: :jumping2: Everything looks great.......no signs of nothing!! :cheer2: He needs to have a catscan done in Dec (she said AFTER we get back from having a great time in disney!!) then a follow up in Feb. :Pinkbounc Gosh, I feel so much better now!!
