Very Nasty Weather in Central FL Tonight

I'm hoping your wish comes true.

I've been through hurricanes that were'nt as rough as last night.

The lightning was very, very scary.

 Stay safe guys !!!

What is the weather like today ?:sad1:

Weather is so unpredictable.

Just as an aside. Up here in Wisconsin it's been soooo chilly this summer. Two days ago it finally reached 80 degrees for the first time this year, which broke a 129 year record. Our last two winters have been brutal on top of that. As a reminder:

Oh, one week from today the days begin to get shorter as we head towards winter.

So which hurricane was it like?

Remember, Central Florida is the Lightening capital of the world.

I hope you guys are safe, and I hope that you have a good day.

Can't wait for chat tonight!!!

Oh, one week from today the days begin to get shorter as we head towards winter.

That's just so sad! I hate when the days start getting shorter.

The weather has been so bad all across the country lately! We had 3 1/2 inches of rain in our gauge from the past two days, and my sister just called from Bozeman, Montana. They had a terrible storm there last night, too, and the power is out now.

Take care, Kevin, and everyone. Hopefully today is a better day!

I'm late to this thread but glad everyone made it thru the storm. We've had quite a bit of severe thunderstorms around here but nothing like 4-5 inches of rain in an hour - that's insane.:scared1:

When there's lightening in the area, I also unplug the Dell laptop. It has an 8 hour battery life so all is good. Last year, there was a storm miles away from us but my laptop took a lightening strike while I was on it. Fried the mother board.

Anyways, hope its calmer weather tonight. I may try to jump into chat but man it goes fast.

Wow!
Kevin and everyone that is getting hit with these storms, take care and stay safe. I will be thinking of you and here's some pixie dust to help get you through.pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

You guys are getting some wild weather this year... it seems like it starts earlier every year.

I hope you are safe today. Those storms sounded scary. I am just reading this.

If we are ever able to finally move down to Florida this is the one thing I look forward to the least. I've been part of a few bad storms there and it's crazy bad. Nothing like up here.

Mind you, I do know how to take care of the flooded homes though...it's what I do best.;)

Glad to hear you made it through the storm, I am hoping tonight will be a bit less dramatic :goodvibes

Take care all of you experiencing this weather and I was bummed at a bit of rain this afternoon :flower3:

It's been raining in the Midlands? Been dry as a bone down south! Oh dear, spoke too soon, it's started raining!

That'll teach ya ;)

Did you get the storms and hail the other day? At least we don't get it as bad as the USA, there's something to say about living on an island just off a continent :worship:

Yikes glad to hear you are all okay.

Was not feeling good about reading this thread with 1 week to go till we get to WDW :scared1:

We're just south of the Mason-Dixon line here, about 90 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA. If the Pittsburgh stations had crisis music, I think they'd be playing it. Very heavy rain. (Weatherman just advised to "hunker down") Not much here. One of the interesting things that the stations have been highlighting is the number of lightning strikes.

click on the "Current Lightning Data" for a time lapse snapshot of all the current lightning strikes across the country (includes about the last hour of data).

Stay safe!

Was the crisis music up and running?

In all seriousness though, I hope everyone was OK in the storm and hope that no major damage was caused.

Sarasota finally got theirs tonight.

I don't think in the 20 years I've lived here I've ever seen a more intense storm. Hail, wind and lightning the likes of which I didn't even know existed.

It breaks my heart to report that the pride and joy of our family room -the wall mounted plasma TV- is no longer with us.

:sad2:

5 min ago here it was nice and sunny now its thundering and lighting with high winds i had to put my plants inside! my blueberry plants got killed in the last one

My 5 year old brother went on teh bakc pourch and could barley stand up its like a mini huricane!

Wow, I just saw radar pics of Orlando. It looks like tonight will be a rough night as well. Hang in there, guys! I bet Pete's happy to be in Cali right now.
