Hi all. Is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party a "must do" in your book? The prices seem quite high, especially if we are already paying to be in the Magic Kingdom that day.
Thanks in advance for your feedback,
Carrie

I attended the halloween event this past fall and my favorite part was the parade with the castle show being a close second. Beyond that though, it didn't really feel all that different. The trick or treating seemed like a colossal waste of time (pay an extra $70 per person to walk around asking for cheap candy?) and at the end of the night they were basically throwing it at people to get rid of their leftovers anyways.

Ah, I forgot, the one thing that made it all worth it to me was meeting Jack and Sally. I doubt I would have gotten the chance to meet them otherwise.

We are going back to Disney this Christmas and while we are there for 8 days or so, I decided to only buy tickets to the christmas party for one night. I figure it's worth doing at least once, and if we find it boring or not worth the cost, then we'll just skip it from now on.

We asked ourselves the same question as we've never been - -but decided to go for it as our daughter would likely enjoy a somewhat less crowded park and ride lines, and get to meet characters she'll otherwise have never gotten to see/meet.

I really enjoyed it. It's not a neccessity if you're looking to save some money, though. You can see all the park decorations during the day. The parade is great, but I don't think it's worth that price honestly. I'm going again this year, but I'm an AP so all I have to buy is the event ticket. If you've never gone, I'd suggest going once to try it out :)

Also, the Osborne family lights in HS are truly the greatest Christmas experience in all the parks. Gives me chills. Be sure to check it out when you're there!

We did not enjoy it. We found it to be extremely crowded and were unable to get viewing spots for the first parade and fireworks. Never saw snow on Main St. Beware, character lined are an hour+ It was the most unmagical Disney experience we've had (5 trips in 3 years). Peter Pan was an hour wait and we waited 20min for small world. The advertised lower crowds we did not find to be true. We went Nov 13 2014 and it was not sold out but it was packed with rude people who felt entitled to get their money's worth at the cost of yelling at people, shoving, standing in front of kids. I really wanted to love it but we will not be going to any more special events such as the Xmas party!

I would say YES. Especially if you have never done it before. Beautifully decorated, shows/parade, dance parties, cookies & hot chocolate, easy access to rides, and a bunch of merry people!

I did not experience this. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I would recommend seeing the second parade and riding rides during the 1st show. I am going to try MNSSHP for this first time this year. I am reading up on my strategy. I think the tips will help me.

Last year, we did not get our moneys worth. The big monkey wrench in our plan was weather. Rain delayed the start of wishes. We decided to meet characters and hit the dance parties early in the night and catch the second parade, then rain cancelled the 2nd parade. The line for people to get a "rain check" was from the Town Hall all the way back to Casey's.

What we saw was nice and we have a good time, but not worth it. We've done the Halloween party (twice) as well and the Christmas Party one previous time before and have had fun, but I think you need to be efficient to truly get a food value.

We did it once and had a great time. It was a little more crowded than we expected but went with it and had fun. This past Dec. we did the firework cruise with dinner instead. Enjoyed it soooo much more and felt it was worth the money.

We are finally skipping it this year--- our DD9 was the deciding factor??!!
Even she didnt want to go ! Just feel like our money would be better spent elsewhere-

DW and I remember the parties of old--- less crowded, buttons, free photos--- we even used to look forward to the "hard tix" we used to get in the mail ! Somewhere along the line, it losts its magic, (at least for us)--- and for only 5 hours, we didnt think it was worth it--- Instead, just booked a dinner at "Ohana" for one of the party nights, so we could see the "Holiday Wishes"-
Enjoy MNNSHP party much better--- and loved "Pirate and Princess" party--- wish they would bring it back !!!

I am worried with the new show for MNSSHP will add more crowds. Disney is getting more and more popular each year (that's because they are amazing :lovestruc) I will just expect crowds any time I go and be patient. Having a strategy can help. I am reading up on my plan.

We went Dec 9, 2014. Had a great time. Read tips and watched second parade, rode during the first parade, BTM 10min, Space Mountain 10 min, IASW 10 min, longest wait time we saw was for 7DMT which was 30 min and expected. If you go to have 10 min waits for popular characters, it's going to be a disappointment, We didn't care about meeting characters so none of our time was used for that. Saw all the dance parties, stayed until midnight, drank loads of hot chocolate, turned down the cookies after 6, only had party tickets, (could get in at 4 anyway so had a extra 2 hours to ride,) walked through snow on main street (and being from Nebraska, just what we wanted to do was walk with it "snowing" in Dec) and just enjoyed the evening. We would do it again.

We are going for the first time on 12/10. We are not going to the parks that day, so we can use the extra day on our tickets on another day. We're super excited about it!
This is what we did, had 7 day passes, added a 8th day because of relatives coming from Miami and wanting to go to the parks, and the party ticket. Not going to any parks on party day gave us time to just chill and relax before going to MK at 4.

It is a must do for me. The prices just keep on going up so it is getting expensive. Luckily I only have to buy myself a ticket since I'm single with no kids. If I were a family of 4 or more, then I don't think I'd be going every year like I do. I paid $78 for my ticket for a night in mid november, last year I paid around $68 for the same time frame. It all depends on if you think it is worth your money. MK was so packed during the day and EMH nights of our trip last year, the night we did the party, the park felt so empty and I got so much done and rode all of my favorite rides over and over with no lines... So that is worth it to me.
