I was only able to get a 8:55 pm dinner resercation at chef mickeys. I have two young children 4 and 2, and we are planning on waking up early the next day. I feel like it is very late but I wanted badly to have the mickey character dinner. Do you think Chef Mickeys is worth the whiny kids I will have that night? lol

While it is a great character experience, it is the same characters you will see and greet at the park everyday. The food is a plain Disney buffet. We do it every year but not that late. Personally, I would not go that late with MY kids. FWIW, my kids go to bed at 8pm.

If you have to be up early the next day, this probably should wait for another time. Not worth the price of cranky kids that night and probably the next day as well.

There's not even any guarantee you will be seated on time, so it could run you really late.

Agree. It's not worth the cranky kids. Every time we've gone to Chef Mickey's for dinner we've had to wait at least 30 minutes past our ADR. Most times 45 mins. And we consistantly show up 20 mins prior to our ADR.

I know my 10 year old would be fine, however my 1 year old starts to melt down about 7pm. What are your travel dates? If you are going in December you may want to keep an eye on the canceled ADR thread for December (or whatever month you are planning on going).

My kids are 8 and 6 years old, and if we eat much later than 6 p.m., major crankiness ensues. There is no way they could wait until 9 p.m. for dinner. At home they are in bed earlier than that! Definitely try to get an earlier time. The crankiness isn't worth it.
