We are coming up on our first stay at DVC/OKW and from some research I know where I would like to request for a room location. Since we are checking in very late (after midnight so actually the next day from our reservation date) I was wondering if there is any chance it will be met or am I going to just get whaever is left at the end of the day..

It's not a huge deal but there are several building I would love to stay in based on the research here (thank you for all the info). We have a one bedroom, Saturday check in and am going to request a upper floor in blg 44, 45 or 55.

Honestly, you will get what is left. If the resort is running well below capacity, you have a better chance. If it is full, and you are making a request for a popular area of OKW, then your chances are much less.

When we did online check-in, our packet was waiting for us and we'd already been assigned a room, no fiddling at the desk was needed beause they'd already taken care of it. When we did not do online check-in, it seemed that they figured it out right there at the desk.

So I'd do online check-in and hope for the best.

Honestly, you will get what is left over, but you may love it. Here is a scenario to show you why...

You do online check in and they assign you to room 5535; 2 of your requests. Then I check in and don't like what they assigned me. I ask what is available in that same area you requested. They know you are not coming in until late so they let me have your room. Someone else will have to deal with you later so the CM doesn't worry. They want to make me happy now. Plus maybe someone else will be put in the area and not want it later in the day. They get my original room. It can be a continuous circle all day.

Just remember, nothing is that bad at OKW. No dumpster views.

We are arriving after 11pm in April, and I know I will get whatever there is. DW has to work on Sat, and we found a nice price on a 7pm flight. Otherwise, if we waited until Sunday it would waste another day with travel.

Yes, no dumspter views so it is all good. :)

I guess I will do the on-line check in as bumbershoot suggested and leave it at that.

arthur06 - we did the same thing. We saved over $300 by taking the last flight of the day out to MCO.

Thanks for all the info.
