Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel® & Spa
Dates: January 4 – February 7, 2009
Price per night: From $228

Disneyland® Hotel
Dates: January 4 – February 7, 2009
Price per night: From $166

Disney’s Paradise Pier® Hotel
Dates: January 4 – February 7, 2009
Price per night: From $153

* Rates do not include Resort fees and applicable taxes. Not valid with any other discounts or promotions. Subject to restrictions and changes without notice.

Now, I am an AP holder so I have already booked the AP rate for my January trip. What is interesting is that the rate quoted here for GC is less than the posted AP rate on the calendar on the AP site....

Also, if I wanted to book the rate outlined above for PP, upgrading to concierge would cost only $385 total for the seven nights we are there. Again, the AP site has PP concierge being $149 per night extra.

Just wanted to give people a head's up that you might want to play around with your dates, hotel, concierge etc. and see what works best for you!

Godalejunior, Which hotel are you staying at? Why don't you call DLR reservations and switch your reservation to the cheaper rate (if you are at GCH) that is advertised? They WILL do that for you! Why pay more when you don't have to? AP or no AP, if I see a cheaper rate elsewhere I would jump on it!

I just got an e-mail a few minutes ago with a PIN code for (almost) these rates. Actually mine said $149 for the PPH, $169 for DLH and $229 for GCH. In any case, I was hoping to get the same PIN offer that everyone else is getting (which is good up until December for 30% off DLR hotel rooms), but sadly, my PIN offer is only good up until May 29th. I don't know if I got a special SoCal offer or what, but it seems Disney doesn't send the same offers out to everyone. And I WISH they would stop sending things to my friend's name at MY e-mail address! She doesn't check MY e-mail. She has her own e-mail address! Grrrrrrr.....

I am staying at the DLH and the AP rates are less. I just posted for those whom are wanting concierge at PP or to stay at GC to help people save a few bucks!

Thank you Godalejunior for the SUPER heads up on this! I wasn't even checking the DL website anymore since making our reservations, but wow these rates are SO much better than what we're paying!

Sherry, do they really do that? I can call DLR and just ask to have my reservation changed to the lower rate that is now advertised? It's that easy??

I got resies next weekend for $227.51 from hotels.com. And the room is a view one!! :cool1:

Yes! Did you make the current reservations through Central Reservations or through the Travel Company? If it's the Travel Company (WDTC), then no, it is not that easy and they charge fees. If you made it through Central (room only) Res., then as long as you are making the changes to the reservation no later than 5 days before your arrival date, you can change whatever and they won't charge you. So you would just call them and give your current reservation info, then tell them you have seen a cheaper offer - in this case, on the website. Tell them you want to keep your same dates (as long as they are not blocked out under the cheaper offer) but switch to that offer instead, and give them whatever info is necessary to use the offer advertised on the website. They will do it! It is that easy!

I put those Reservations folks through so much for this past December trip. Initially I had a ressie made through the WDTC for the GCH on December 26 - 29. I eventually had to cancel that. Then I made a reservation through Central for the GCH for the same weekend. I eventually had to switch hotels from the GCH to the PPH, but kept the same weekend. And then I got a nifty AP8 rate for the PPH, so I switched my PPH weekend to one weekend earlier to be able to use the AP8 rate. And they were fine with all of it!

They had those same rates posted on their website valid through Jan 10th, but I guess business is slow so they extended them into Feb. We are going in march, here's to hoping they still have those rates. :thumbsup2

We just booked GCH for the $228 a night deal (cheaper than the AP rate for GCH). We also were able to get the $150 dollar gift card offer because we are staying more than 4 nights. Sweet!:goodvibes

Did you have to book a whole package with hoppers to get the $150 gift card?

No we didn't have to book it with tickets, but we needed hoppers for our two DDs. (DH and I are AP holders) They told us we could book it with or with out and get the $150 gift card.
Thanks for the heads up on the rates godalejunior!

So I did some calculations and if I give up the AP8 rate for DLH and go with the general promotion right now, I would save about $30 getting the $150 gift card. Not sure what I am going to do yet.... You are welcome! :thumbsup2

Did you book by phone? I may have to take advantage of this!

Yes, we booked over the phone, We had a prior reservation that we switched over to this offer with gift card. Figured we would need to do that over the phone. They were more than happy to do it.

I switched from the DLH to the GC today for the rate you got but the manager kept insisting I would not get the gift card. Reading it on the webiste, you need to book a WDTC package, which I assume means the hoppers. I just need the room. So, are you sure all you had to do was just purchase the room for that rate and nothing else to get the gift card? I don't want to keep hounding them if I am missing something...

I thought there were two deals with the gift card. One was a package. The other was at least four nights at the hotel. Good Luck!!!

EDIT: I just looked at the hotel only offer and did not see anything about the gift card on the hotel only offer.

Heck I don't know what deals are going on as there are so many. I had to switch because the DLH pool is down until the end of the month and I just found out. We are going to be there seven nights and there is no way we are not having access to a pool on site.

Okay, reading the fine print it says that the gift card is not valid for room only reservations. So I am out of luck.

We were told we did NOT have to book a package to get the gift card. Maybe the person we spoke with didn't have her facts straight. We did end up booking a room/parkhopper package because we needed park tickets for DD's. The gift card offer is NOT valid with an AP rate, I asked about that one and was told no. Good luck!

After reading the small print, I don't see how I could get it if it says hotel only is excluded from the offer.
